Development Manager Jobs in Idaho: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a development manager in Idaho?
Most development managers in Idaho move into the role from a technical or project contributor position after completing a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or computer science. Idaho does not require a state-issued license for most development manager roles, but employers in construction and public infrastructure often expect a PMP or a project management credential recognized by Idaho's Division of Building Safety. Building several years of team-lead or senior individual-contributor experience in Idaho's tech or healthcare sectors is the most common path.
How much do development managers make in Idaho?
Development managers in Idaho earn a median of about $131,550 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $69,800 for the lowest 10% to over $210,340 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire development managers in Idaho?
Employers hiring development managers in Idaho right now include United Rentals, Micron Technology, and NV5, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Idaho's largest technology, healthcare, and utility employers generate the most consistent volume of these openings throughout the year.
Which Idaho cities have the most development manager jobs?
Boise, Coeur d'Alene, and Idaho Falls lead Idaho in development manager openings. Boise dominates because of its concentration of technology companies, hospital networks, and corporate headquarters, while Nampa and Idaho Falls contribute through manufacturing, energy, and regional healthcare employers that each maintain their own development and project management functions.
Are there remote development manager jobs in Idaho?
Yes, and they are more common than in many other fields, since development management is primarily a coordination and oversight role that does not require a physical presence on a production floor or job site. About 31% of development manager openings tied to Idaho are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly employers have accepted distributed management. Software and product development management roles account for the majority of fully remote postings.
How can I get hired as a development manager in Idaho with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a team-lead or senior individual-contributor role first, then transitioning into management once you have demonstrated ownership over a project or a small team. Large Idaho employers such as Micron Technology and St. Luke's Health System regularly hire project coordinators and associate product managers as stepping stones into development management. Earning a PMP or a Certified Associate in Project Management credential strengthens a candidate's case considerably, and building a portfolio of documented project outcomes gives hiring managers in Idaho something concrete to evaluate.
Where can I find and apply to development manager jobs in Idaho?
You can find and apply to development manager jobs in Idaho on Migrate Mate, which lists current Idaho openings updated on an ongoing basis. Search the roles available, identify the ones that match your background and location preference, and apply directly to each posting that fits.
