Quality Assurance Manager Jobs in South Carolina: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality assurance manager in South Carolina?
Most quality assurance managers in South Carolina start with a bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field, then build several years of hands-on quality experience in a production environment. While South Carolina does not issue a state license specific to this role, employers in the state's automotive and aerospace sectors strongly favor candidates who hold certifications such as Certified Quality Manager through the American Society for Quality, which signals readiness for a management-level position.
How much do quality assurance managers make in South Carolina?
Quality assurance managers in South Carolina earn a median of about $126,880 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $80,510 for the lowest 10% to over $204,910 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire quality assurance managers in South Carolina?
Companies currently hiring quality assurance managers in South Carolina include Food Lion, International Vitamin Corporation, and TD, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. South Carolina's concentration of international automotive, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing firms makes it one of the more active states for quality leadership roles in the Southeast.
Which South Carolina cities have the most quality assurance manager jobs?
Columbia, Greenville, and Anderson account for the most quality assurance manager openings in South Carolina. The Greenville and Spartanburg corridor drives the largest share of listings because of its density of automotive and tire manufacturers, while Charleston's expanding aerospace and port-logistics operations generate consistent demand in the coastal market.
Are there remote quality assurance manager jobs in South Carolina?
Yes, but they're rare. Quality assurance managers typically need to be on-site to oversee production processes, audit suppliers, and lead inspection teams, which limits full remote arrangements significantly. About 14% of quality assurance manager openings tied to South Carolina are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with the remote portion concentrated in roles focused on supplier documentation, quality system administration, or multi-site program oversight that can be managed off the production floor.
How can I get hired as a quality assurance manager in South Carolina with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a quality technician or quality engineer role at one of South Carolina's large manufacturing employers, then progressing toward management. Companies like BMW Manufacturing and Boeing South Carolina hire quality technicians and quality engineers at the associate level, giving candidates structured exposure to production systems and audit processes. Earning an entry-level American Society for Quality credential, such as Certified Quality Technician, while in an adjacent role strengthens a promotion case considerably.
Where can I find and apply to quality assurance manager jobs in South Carolina?
