Quality Manager Jobs in Louisiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality manager in Louisiana?
The path typically starts with a bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related technical field followed by several years in quality assurance or inspection roles. Louisiana does not issue a state license for quality managers, but employers consistently favor candidates holding credentials from the American Society for Quality, particularly the Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer designation. Industries like petrochemicals and food processing also value sector-specific certifications such as HACCP and API quality training.
How much do quality managers make in Louisiana?
Quality managers in Louisiana earn a median of about $133,210 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $79,350 for the lowest 10% to over $213,350 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire quality managers in Louisiana?
Employers hiring quality managers in Louisiana right now include Kiewit, Five S, and Arrowhead Contracting, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Louisiana's concentration of refining, aerospace, and food processing facilities means demand tends to stay steady even when other states see seasonal slowdowns.
Which Louisiana cities have the most quality manager jobs?
Shreveport, Baton Rouge, and Lake Charles have the most quality manager openings in Louisiana. Baton Rouge leads because of its dense cluster of petrochemical plants and refineries along the Mississippi River corridor, while New Orleans draws hiring from aerospace contractors and healthcare systems, and Lake Charles benefits from its LNG and industrial manufacturing base.
Are there remote quality manager jobs in Louisiana?
Yes, but they're rare. Quality manager roles are largely hands-on, requiring physical presence on production floors, in labs, or at supplier sites. About 27% of quality manager openings tied to Louisiana are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to concentrate in supplier quality, documentation management, or quality systems roles that do not require direct oversight of physical production.
How can I get hired as a quality manager in Louisiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a quality inspector or quality technician role, which large Louisiana manufacturers like those in the Baton Rouge chemical corridor and the Northshore aerospace sector regularly hire without management experience required. Pursuing an ASQ Certified Quality Technician credential before applying gives candidates a measurable edge. From an inspector position, moving into a quality engineer or quality coordinator title is the typical stepping stone before reaching a manager level in Louisiana operations.
Where can I find and apply to quality manager jobs in Louisiana?
