People Operations Manager Jobs in Louisiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a people operations manager in Louisiana?
Most people operations managers in Louisiana start with a bachelor's degree in human resources or business administration, then build several years of experience as an HR generalist or HR business partner. Louisiana does not require a state-issued license for this role, but earning SHRM or HRCI certification signals readiness for management. Large employers in the energy and healthcare sectors, which dominate Louisiana's market, typically expect a combination of both credentials and direct supervisory experience.
How much do people operations managers make in Louisiana?
People operations managers in Louisiana earn a median of about $107,880 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $75,690 for the lowest 10% to over $177,870 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire people operations managers in Louisiana?
Louisiana people operations manager roles are posted by DOTD-Administration, Walmart, and Stine and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Louisiana's energy, healthcare, and logistics industries generate consistent demand for this role across the state.
Which Louisiana cities have the most people operations manager jobs?
Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and New Orleans have the most people operations manager openings in Louisiana right now. New Orleans and Baton Rouge lead because of their concentration of major hospital systems, energy firms, and corporate regional offices, while Shreveport's manufacturing and healthcare base supports steady hiring in the northwest.
Are there remote people operations manager jobs in Louisiana?
Yes, and they're more common than in many comparable roles, since much of people operations work centers on coordination, policy, and systems rather than on-site presence. About 25% of people operations manager openings tied to Louisiana are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting broader flexibility in HR leadership hiring. Functions like HRIS administration, benefits management, and talent acquisition tend to be the most remote-eligible parts of the role.
How can I get hired as a people operations manager in Louisiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is moving into a people operations manager role from an HR coordinator or HR generalist position at a mid-size Louisiana employer. Large healthcare networks like Ochsner Health and LCMC Health, along with energy contractors such as Turner Industries, run structured HR associate and rotational programs that build the cross-functional experience hiring managers look for. Earning a SHRM-CP certification before applying and demonstrating project ownership, such as leading an onboarding redesign or an HRIS migration, strengthens a candidate's case considerably against more experienced competition.
