CMC Tower Bed Expansion (CLT)
The new tower, a 448-bed tower, will have more than just hospital beds. At full occupancy, the new facility is expected to offer 191 new acute care beds, 38 operating rooms, 16 procedure rooms, a pod-style emergency department with 62 exam rooms, a new helipad, and an open core model for the nursing units on inpatient floors, designed to facilitate collaboration between workers and maximize visibility and access into patient rooms. Opens September 2027.
Major Responsibilities
- Performs and assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
- Documents patient history pertaining to specific procedure on requisition submitted by physician.
- Confirms patient identification by verbal confirmation and validating proof of identity.
- Prepares and administers contrast media as required.
- Consults with radiologist and other physicians as necessary.
- Selects and operates equipment as dictated by demands of individual procedure and demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills.
- Maintains appropriate records as required by departmental standards.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic Technology.
Certification / License
Must be registry eligible with registry completion within 1 year of hire date. BLS required.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Requires strenuous physical effort while assisting patients from wheelchairs and stretchers. Handles equipment and monitoring supplies. Must have good oral and written communication skills to interact with patients and hospital staff. May be required to frequently stretch, bend, twist, squat or kneel in operating radiographic equipment. Must be able to use hands for power gripping, speed work and precision during manipulation of radiographic equipment and in the case of injured and diseased patients. Vision and hearing for distances of up to 10 feet is necessary. May be exposed to various physical conditions throughout the workday such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs, and being near moving equipment. Able to adapt to changes in temperature and humidity.
