Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Field Respiratory Care
Base Location: Southington, CT
Service Area: Connecticut, Massachusetts & Rhode Island
Compensation: $70,000–$90,000/year, depending on experience
Schedule: Primarily First Shift + Rotating On-Call/After-Hours Coverage
ProCaire is looking for an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our respiratory team supporting Skilled Nursing Facilities throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
This is not a traditional hospital RT position.
Our RTs work independently in the field, providing respiratory equipment setups, clinical support, troubleshooting and education directly within Skilled Nursing Facilities.
We’re looking for someone who is clinically strong, dependable, comfortable working independently, and willing to get in the car and take care of customers when they need us.
What You’ll Do
· Set up and support CPAP/BiPAP
· Set up and troubleshoot invasive and non-invasive ventilators
· Perform tracheostomy setups and trach changes
· Set up and support AIRVO/high-flow therapy
· Set up oxygen and related respiratory equipment
· Perform mask fittings and respiratory equipment evaluations
· Educate SNF staff, patients and families on respiratory equipment and therapy
· Troubleshoot respiratory equipment and clinical issues in the field
· Build strong working relationships with nursing and administrative staff at our facilities
· Participate in rotating on-call and after-hours coverage
· Teach CPR/BLS classes
· Travel throughout our service area as needed
What We’re Looking For
· Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
· Active CT respiratory therapist license or ability to obtain one
· Ability to obtain/maintain MA and RI licensure as needed
· 2+ years of respiratory therapy experience
· Strong ventilator, BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen and tracheostomy experience
· Comfortable working independently outside of a hospital environment
· Excellent customer service and communication skills
· Dependable, organized and responsive
· Valid driver’s license and reliable insured vehicle
· Willingness to travel throughout CT, MA and RI
· Willingness to participate in after-hours/on-call coverage
· Current BLS/CPR certification
· CPR/BLS instructor certification or willingness to obtain it
Experience in SNF, long-term care, LTACH, DME/home respiratory, home ventilation or post-acute care is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits

The Right Fit
This job is best for an RT who likes autonomy and variety.
You won’t spend your entire shift on one hospital floor. One day may include a ventilator setup at a SNF, troubleshooting a BiPAP issue at another facility, educating nursing staff, and helping solve an urgent respiratory equipment issue.
We need someone who takes ownership of problems, communicates well with customers, and can be counted on when something needs to get done.
For the right person, there is an opportunity over time to take on additional clinical, customer and operational leadership responsibilities as ProCaire continues to grow.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
