Prepare for a remote-specific screening call
Remote interviews for business development consultant roles often test structured communication and CRM fluency before assessing relationship skills. Expect questions about how you manage a deal remotely from first contact to close, and be ready to walk through your workflow in a tool like Salesforce or HubSpot.
Target companies with distributed revenue teams
Remote-first SaaS companies, B2B service firms, and virtual consulting agencies build entire revenue functions without a physical office. Identifying employers whose existing team is already distributed signals they have the infrastructure and culture to support a remote business development consultant from day one.
Remote Business Development Consultant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote business development consultant job?
Remote employers screen business development consultants for self-direction, structured written communication, and the ability to move deals forward without in-person contact. Companies that hire for these roles remotely tend to be distributed-team software firms, consulting agencies, and B2B service providers. Candidates who can demonstrate pipeline management in async environments, show fluency with CRM tools, and articulate results in writing consistently stand out in the screening process.
Which companies hire remote business development consultants?
Employers currently hiring remote business development consultants include DESORT STAFFING, Provectus, and CBIZ, per current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Remote-first software companies, distributed professional services firms, and growth-stage B2B startups make up the largest share of employers posting these roles.
Can you get a remote business development consultant job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level roles are harder to land because you're expected to work independently from day one without on-site mentorship. Early-career candidates do best targeting remote-first startups and small consulting firms that value initiative. Showing a completed project, a documented outreach sequence, or a short freelance engagement in lieu of full-time experience can open the door.
Do you need a degree for remote business development consultant jobs?
Not always. Remote employers for this role weigh demonstrated results, CRM proficiency, and a documented history of winning new business more heavily than a specific credential. A degree helps with larger enterprise clients and formal consulting firms, but many distributed teams prioritize a strong portfolio of closed deals or measurable pipeline contributions over educational background.
