Duties
- Lead the preparation and analysis of comprehensive financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and month-end closing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory requirements across all financial activities.
- Manage internal controls and conduct regular balance sheet reconciliations to verify data integrity.
- Supervise the implementation and maintenance of accounting software systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms; optimize spreadsheet use for data analysis and reporting.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting analysis to support strategic planning initiatives.
- Coordinate external audits, prepare regulatory reports, and ensure adherence to governmental accounting standards for non-profit or governmental entities if applicable.
- Lead a high-performing finance team by managing hiring, training, performance evaluations, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in financial management practices.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
- Manage treasury functions including cash management strategies to optimize liquidity and support operational needs.
