Tips for Your Remote Insurance Sales Agent Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote insurance sales agent openings from across the U.S. in one place. Search by role and apply directly to the listings that match your license, experience level, and preferred product line before they close.
Get licensed in multiple states before applying
Remote insurance employers often want agents who can write policies across state lines. Holding licenses in several states through a non-resident licensing process makes you a stronger candidate for distributed teams covering national books of business.
Show async communication skills in your application
Remote sales teams run on written updates, CRM notes, and video calls. Include examples in your resume or cover letter of times you closed business or managed client relationships without face-to-face contact, using tools like email, chat, or video conferencing.
Highlight remote-ready CRM and dialer experience
Call out specific platforms you've used, such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or any insurance-specific agency management system. Remote insurance employers want to know you can manage your pipeline and document client activity independently from day one.
Remote Insurance Sales Agent Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote insurance sales agent job?
Target insurers and digital insurance platforms that run fully distributed sales teams, since those employers are built for remote work and hire for it regularly. Remote employers screen for self-direction, clear written communication, and comfort with CRM tools and video-based client meetings. Holding an active state insurance license before you apply gives you a measurable edge over candidates who still need to get licensed.
Which companies hire remote insurance sales agents?
Companies hiring remote insurance sales agents right now include State Farm, Pioneer Agency, and The Gainey Agency, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Remote-first carriers, digital insurance marketplaces, and national insurers with distributed field teams make up the bulk of remote hiring in this role.
Can you get a remote insurance sales agent job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level roles are harder to land because you'll need to manage your own pipeline and client communication from day one without in-office support. Remote-first insurance agencies and digital carriers are the most likely to hire entry-level candidates. Showing a completed pre-licensing course, familiarity with CRM software, and strong written communication skills can substitute for direct sales experience.
Do you need a degree for remote insurance sales agent jobs?
Not always. Remote employers in insurance sales weigh an active state insurance license, demonstrated sales results, and comfort with remote tools far more heavily than a degree. A strong performance record in any customer-facing or quota-driven role, combined with the required state licensure, is typically enough to compete for remote openings.
Which industries hire the most remote insurance sales agents?
Most remote insurance sales agent openings sit in Insurance and Investment & Asset Management, per current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors rely on distributed sales teams to reach policyholders and clients across wide geographies without requiring agents to work from a central office.
