What you will do
- Own the vision, strategy, and execution of field marketing across AMER, EMEA, and APJ — building a scalable center of excellence (plans, playbooks, reporting) that keeps every region consistent while localizing where it matters, and acts as the voice of the field back to global GTM.
- Own the end-to-end ABM and territory demand gen strategy across events, digital, content, and outbound — driven by intent and account-fit data, engineered for asymmetric security buying committees, and inclusive of named accountability for Sysdig's visibility in AI-assisted discovery (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, AI Overviews).
- Set the strategy, standards, and calendar for the full event portfolio (RSAC, Black Hat, KubeCon, hosted summits, CISO dinners, partner events) — rebalancing deliberately toward owned, intimate, experience-led formats with rigorous ROI discipline and executive engagement that gets Sysdig leaders in front of buying committees earlier.
- Serve as the senior marketing partner to regional sales and RevOps — aligning on territory strategy, whitespace, pipeline, and revenue through territory planning, forecasts, and QBRs, while developing strategic co-marketing with cloud, technology, and channel partners to scale through-partner pipeline.
- Own and forecast the global field marketing budget and establish a data-centric operating model — clear KPIs, multi-method measurement (attribution, incrementality, win-loss), and clean bidirectional integration across the event stack, Marketo, and Salesforce — holding every program accountable for ROI and pipeline contribution.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing distributed team and operationalize a "human + AI" model — turning higher-value AI use cases (event selection, agentic list building, personalized follow-up at scale) into repeatable, measured workflows with clear quality guardrails, while communicating strategy and performance to executive stakeholders.
What you will bring with you
- 10+ years of B2B marketing experience, including 5+ years leading and building field, regional, or demand generation teams — ideally distributed across multiple geographies.
- Deep familiarity with the enterprise cybersecurity or cloud infrastructure buyer. You understand how CISOs, security architects, and platform teams actually evaluate, and how procurement, legal, and finance shape the outcome.
- Proven track record owning a multi-million-dollar budget and a pipeline number, with the receipts to show measurable revenue impact at scale.
- Expertise across the full demand funnel, ABM, intent data, and enterprise event execution — with a strong point of view on where field investment does and does not pay back.
- Demonstrated AI fluency as a builder, not just a user. You have put AI into real marketing workflows and can point to what you built, what it replaced, and what it produced. You have a clear view on where AI genuinely creates leverage versus where it is hype.
- Hands-on command of a modern GTM stack: Marketo, Salesforce, an ABM/intent platform (6sense, Demandbase, or similar), event tech, and BI/reporting. Comfort with AI-native GTM tooling is a strong plus.
- Track record of operating as a strategic leader — building cross-functional partnerships, influencing executive stakeholders, making the business case, and leading planning across regions and time zones.
- Willingness to travel meaningfully, roughly 20-40%, including some evenings and weekends around major industry moments.
What we look for
- A strategic, business-minded leader who balances big-picture vision with hands-on execution. At this level, the job is to build the system that runs the programs.
- A pipeline mindset. You measure success in opportunities and revenue influenced, not attendance or lead counts. You know the number a program will produce before it happens and you prove the one it did after.
- Strong people leadership. You hire well, develop people, and get the best out of a team spread across three regions.
- Executive presence and the ability to influence and align stakeholders without direct authority.
- Intellectual honesty about what is working. You kill your own programs when the data says to.
- Genuine curiosity about how this discipline is changing, and the confidence to rebuild rather than defend. A “we have always done it this way” mindset will not succeed here.
- Excellent judgment under ambiguity, and the operational discipline to run many programs across many markets without dropping quality.

Tips for Your Remote Marketing Director Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote marketing director openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your background and apply directly without sorting through non-remote listings.
Show async communication skills upfront
Remote marketing directors run strategy through written briefs, Slack threads, and recorded walkthroughs. Your application materials should demonstrate clear written thinking, not just results. A concise cover letter that reads like a well-structured brief signals remote readiness immediately.
Target remote-first companies specifically
Remote-first firms build their entire workflow around distributed collaboration, which means a remote marketing director functions with more autonomy and fewer timezone conflicts. Look for companies that describe themselves as remote-first or fully distributed, not just remote-friendly.
Prepare for remote interview formats
Remote marketing director interviews often include an async assignment, such as a short marketing strategy memo or a channel audit, before the live interview. Practice presenting strategic thinking in writing and be ready to walk through your decision-making process on video.
Remote Marketing Director Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote marketing director job?
Remote marketing director roles go to candidates who can demonstrate self-direction and strong written communication, because remote teams rely on async collaboration rather than in-office oversight. Remote-first SaaS companies, DTC brands, and distributed B2B firms are the most active hirers. Candidates who show a clear record of running campaigns independently, leading distributed teams, and communicating strategy in writing have a measurable edge over those whose experience is entirely in-office.
Which companies hire remote marketing directors?
Remote marketing director roles are posted by Demand, Veeva Systems, and Amgen and others right now, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Remote-first technology companies, distributed e-commerce brands, and venture-backed SaaS firms account for a large share of these openings.
Can you get a remote marketing director job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry into a director-level role is harder because you must demonstrate independent judgment from day one without in-office mentorship. Early-stage startups and lean remote teams occasionally hire first-time directors who can show a strong portfolio of campaigns they led end-to-end. Documented results, a visible content or brand presence, and experience managing freelancers or contractors can substitute for traditional experience in remote hiring decisions.
Do you need a degree for remote marketing director jobs?
Not always. Remote employers hiring marketing directors weigh demonstrated results, a strong campaign portfolio, and evidence of strategic thinking more heavily than a specific credential. That said, many postings still list a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field as preferred, so a degree can remove friction early in the screening process even if it is not strictly required.
Which industries hire the most remote marketing directors?
Remote marketing director roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, and Electronics & Hardware, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors rely heavily on distributed teams, which makes remote marketing leadership a natural fit for how they operate.
