Job Description
We are FIS. Our technology powers the world’s economy and our teams bring innovation to life. We champion diversity to deliver the best products and solutions for our colleagues, clients and communities. If you’re ready to start learning, growing and making an impact with a career in fintech, we’d like to know: Are you FIS?
About the role:
As a Consultant II on the AffinityEdge team, you’ll play a key role in delivering successful core banking and card conversion projects for our clients. In this client-facing position, you will collaborate closely with financial institutions and cross-functional FIS teams to support new acquisitions, system conversions, and merge initiatives.
In a typical project, you will take ownership of translating client data and business requirements into actionable technical solutions. This includes leading data mapping efforts from the source banking core into AffinityEdge and developing detailed coding specifications used by development teams to build conversion programs. You will serve as a subject matter expert for your assigned application—General Ledger—guiding clients through design decisions, validating requirements, and ensuring alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
From initial discovery through testing, conversion, and go-live, you will represent your application area and be accountable for delivering accurate, high-quality outcomes. Whether supporting a full core conversion or a card reissue event, your work directly contributes to a seamless transition and a successful client experience.
About the team:
You’ll be joining a highly collaborative AffinityEdge Implementations team focused on delivering complex core banking and card conversion projects for financial institutions across the country. Our team partners closely with clients, project managers, developers, and product specialists to guide institutions through acquisitions, system conversions, and go-live events with confidence and precision.
This is a results-driven, supportive team that values knowledge sharing, attention to detail, and ownership. With a strong pipeline of upcoming conversions and opportunities for growth, you’ll have the chance to build deep expertise, make a direct client impact, and contribute to successful, high-visibility projects.
What you will be doing:
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Leading data mapping activities from client source systems into AffinityEdge, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with business requirements
- Developing detailed coding specifications that guide development teams in building and executing conversion programs
- Serving as the subject matter expert for your assigned application area (AffinityEdge General Ledger) throughout the project lifecycle
- Collaborating with clients and internal FIS teams to gather, analyze, and validate requirements, ensuring all design decisions support successful conversion outcomes
- Supporting testing cycles, issue resolution, and data validation efforts to ensure conversion quality and readiness for go-live
- Representing your application during key project milestones, including discovery, design reviews, cutover planning, and conversion or card reissue events
- Proactively identifying risks, gaps, and dependencies within your area and driving resolution in partnership with project leadership and technical teams
What you bring:
- Experience working in banking, general ledger or financial services—preferably with core banking systems, or general ledger functions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications
- Experience with data mapping, data analysis, or system conversions, including working with large datasets and validating results
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including client-facing experience
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate results
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams and contribute to successful project outcomes
- Required work hours: 40 hours
- Overtime required: Yes, during critical periods of the project timeline
- Weekends required: Yes, over Mock and Live Conversion Weekends
- Travel percentage for this role: 10%
Added Bonus if you have:
- Prior experience with AffinityEdge (formerly known as MISER) core banking platform
- Familiarity with testing tools, COBOL with Unisys Clearpath, SQL, or data analysis tools
- Payments industry experience
- Experience supporting conversions, mergers, or acquisitions in a financial services environment
- Client relationship management skills

Tips for Your Remote Professional Services Consultant Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote professional services consultant openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your background and apply directly without sorting through unrelated listings.
Show client results in written form
Remote employers evaluate written communication before your first call. Rewrite your resume bullets to lead with client outcomes, such as implementation timelines shortened or adoption rates improved, so hiring managers see proof of remote-ready delivery before the interview.
Get certified on the platforms employers use
Remote professional services consultant roles often list specific platform requirements. Earning certifications in Salesforce, ServiceNow, or SAP signals that you can contribute to client engagements without a ramp-up period, which matters more in distributed teams where onboarding support is limited.
Prepare for async interview stages
Remote hiring processes frequently include a written case study or async video response before a live interview. Practice structuring client recommendations clearly in writing and walking through implementation plans on camera without real-time prompts.
Demonstrate async client communication skills
Remote professional services work runs on async updates, status reports, and written check-ins with clients. Build a short portfolio of client-facing documents, project summaries, or stakeholder updates you have written, and reference them specifically during the interview to show you can manage relationships without face-to-face contact.
Remote Professional Services Consultant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote professional services consultant job?
Target remote-first software companies, SaaS vendors, and consulting firms that run distributed delivery teams, since those organizations are built around remote client engagement. Remote employers screen for strong written communication, async project management, and the ability to manage client relationships without in-person meetings. Demonstrating experience with tools like Salesforce, ServiceNow, or project tracking platforms and showing a history of independent client ownership puts you ahead.
Which companies hire remote professional services consultants?
Companies hiring remote professional services consultants right now include IQVIA, CrowdStrike, and Oscar Health, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Remote-first technology vendors, enterprise software companies, and distributed consulting practices make up the largest share of these openings, regularly staffing professional services consultants to support client onboarding and implementation from anywhere in the U.S.
Can you get a remote professional services consultant job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level roles are harder to land because you're expected to manage client interactions independently from day one. Smaller SaaS companies and remote-first consulting firms are more open to junior candidates. Showing project management coursework, client-facing internships, or documented results from any advisory or implementation work, even informal, signals you can operate without daily supervision.
Do you need a degree for remote professional services consultant jobs?
Not always. Many remote employers weigh demonstrated client delivery experience, platform certifications, and measurable project outcomes over a specific degree. Certifications in Salesforce, SAP, or project management frameworks like PMP carry real weight for remote professional services roles, especially at technology companies where practical implementation skills matter more than academic credentials.
Which industries hire the most remote professional services consultants?
Most remote professional services consultant openings sit in Technology & Software, Consulting & Professional Services, and Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, per current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These sectors rely on distributed delivery teams to serve clients across multiple time zones, making remote professional services consultants a natural fit for ongoing implementation, onboarding, and advisory engagements.
