Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated PSAT/SAT/ACT Tutor specializing in Math and Reading to join our educational team. In this role, you will inspire high school students to excel in standardized test preparation by delivering engaging, personalized instruction both online and in-person. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive test-preparation tutoring for the PSAT, SAT, and ACT, focusing on the Math and Reading sections.
- Develop customized lesson plans and curriculum materials that align with test standards and student needs.
- Provide clear preparation guidance, including test-taking skills, time management strategies, and practice exercises.
- Support students in understanding complex concepts through engaging presentation skills and effective classroom management techniques.
- Assess student performance regularly, provide constructive feedback, and adjust instruction to maximize improvement.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages active participation, critical thinking, and confidence-building among high schoolers.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Strong knowledge of the PSAT, SAT, and/or ACT
- Prior teaching, tutoring, or test-preparation experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to explain challenging concepts clearly and patiently
- Ability to connect with, engage, and motivate high school students
- Experience preparing students for the Digital SAT or current ACT
- Experience interpreting diagnostic and practice-test results
- Experience working with students who have ADHD, executive-function challenges, learning differences, or testing accommodations
- Reliable, organized, responsive, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable providing instruction through Zoom or another virtual platform
- Reliable computer, high-speed internet connection, webcam, and quiet teaching environment
Preferred Qualifications
- PSAT, SAT, or ACT scores in the 90th percentile or higher in the subject area taught
- Familiarity with College Board Bluebook, Khan Academy, Desmos, and other test-preparation platforms
- Experience interpreting diagnostic and practice-test results
- Experience working with students who have ADHD, executive-function challenges, learning differences, or testing accommodations
- Availability during after-school, evening, or weekend hours
