You must hold an active registered nurse license issued by the Delaware Board of Nursing or a valid Nurse Licensure Compact license that covers Delaware practice. Candidates complete an accredited nursing program at the associate or bachelor's level, pass the NCLEX-RN, and then apply to the Delaware Board of Nursing for licensure. Most home health agencies in Delaware also require at least one year of prior clinical experience before hiring for independent field roles.
How much do RN home healths make in Delaware?

Which companies hire rn home healths in Delaware?
Delaware rn home health roles are posted by BAYADA Home Health Care, Aveanna Healthcare, and Amedisys and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Delaware's home health market leans toward both large national agencies with regional branches and nonprofit visiting nurse organizations tied to health systems like ChristianaCare.
Which Delaware cities have the most rn home health jobs?
Georgetown, Milford, and Dover have the most rn home health openings in Delaware. Wilmington leads because it anchors the state's largest concentration of health system campuses and agency offices, while Dover and Newark draw openings from both independent agencies and organizations serving the surrounding suburban and rural patient populations in Kent and New Castle counties.
Are there remote rn home health jobs in Delaware?
Yes, but they're rare. About 0% of rn home health openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting that the role is fundamentally hands-on and requires direct patient visits in the home. The portions most likely to allow remote work are care coordination, documentation review, and telehealth follow-up calls rather than direct clinical visits.
How can I get hired as a rn home health in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is completing a new graduate nurse residency program at a Delaware health system such as ChristianaCare, which offers structured transition-to-practice programs that can lead to home health placement. Candidates without home health experience often move in laterally from med-surg, rehabilitation, or long-term care nursing roles at Delaware facilities. Earning a Delaware RN license promptly and adding a wound care or case management certificate strengthens applications to agencies willing to train candidates from adjacent clinical backgrounds.
