ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Field Robotics Engineer
As a Field Robotics Engineer at Carbon Robotics, you are responsible for ensuring customer success via successful implementation and support of Carbon Robotics Equipment. You'll be responsible for owning, scheduling, and prioritizing maintenance tasks on the Laser Weeders as well as owning and ensuring successful implementations. This includes training of operators, making usage recommendations based on agronomic knowledge and implementing set up. You will also act as a liaison to engineering and product departments by communicating customer wishes and complaints, equipment performance and pain points or bottlenecks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The training of operators and all farm personnel required to successfully implement the use of Carbon Robotics equipment to growers.
- Serve as the lead point of contact for assigned accounts.
- The ability to learn and teach every facet of usage of equipment, from transportation, maintenance to field utilization and operation.
- To schedule, coordinate and prioritize bi-weekly maintenance tasks on Laser Weeders in collaboration with the support team.
- Ownership of quality of work
- Report immediately to Support and Ops Management teams any event, condition, or circumstance that could injure another employee, damage Carbon Robotics equipment, reduce customer confidence, impair service, etc.
- Make recommendations to improve support processes.
- Make recommendations to improve Laser Weeder reliability.
- Troubleshoot and report weeding quality issues in collaboration with support
Measures of Performance:
- Maintains positive working relations with all support stakeholders.
- Plans, organizes, schedules and supervises work activities.
- Develops knowledge of Laser Weeder and all associated systems.
- Maintenance tasks are performed at a high level and maintained in accordance with support, product and engineering teams.
- Attends and participates in meetings related to support and Laser Weeder performance.
- Enhances the image and reputation of Carbon Robotics by ensuring teams have the necessary resources to execute tasks at a high level.
- Provides high quality training to incoming Field Robotics Engineer’s
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams.
- Ability to clearly communicate over different platforms with a large set of stakeholders
- Requires the ability to manage multiple projects, and the ability to solve an array of technical, personnel, and customer related problems.
- HVAC experience
- Proficient in brazing and soldering for copper and refrigeration lines
- Experience with residential or commercial refrigeration systems
- Ability to clearly document issues and processes in an organized manner
- Thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment where communication, trust, and accountability are valued.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years experience in agriculture working with growers, farming equipment, and HVAC desired
- Sales acumen with ability to deliver compelling demonstrations and address technical questions from prospective growers about our products to facilitate a sale
- Excellent people skills that allow you to develop rapport and build trust with growers and dealers
- Mechanically inclined; Able to troubleshoot and fix problems with Carbon Robotics Laser Weeding equipment
- Computer literate and capable of installing and updating software, uploading logs and tagging images
- Flexible and adaptable; effective in a startup environment with limited resources
- Comfortable driving a truck and trailer to transport equipment to grower fields for demos and deliveries
- EPA Certification
- Travel Required at 70 percent plus
COMPENSATION
- Carbon Robotics' base salary pay range: $82,000—$105,000 USD
Carbon Robotics follows equitable hiring practices. Flexibility in our hiring process allows hiring of talent at levels different from what are posted. The compensation range outlined is based on a target budgeted base salary. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as relevant experience and skill, Interview assessments and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements. Offers are determined using our equitable hiring practices. Carbon Robotics offers additional compensation in the form of benefits premiums, pre-IPO stock options and On Target Earning commissions for appropriate positions. Base pay ranges are reviewed each year. We are committed to the principle of pay equity – paying employees equitably for similar work.
