About Schoen's Roofing & Exteriors
Schoen's Roofing & Exteriors is a growing roofing and exteriors company serving Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri. We're known for quality work and doing right by our customers and our crews. As we keep growing, we're looking for good people who take pride in what they do and want to grow with us.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for an experienced Foreman to keep an eye on roofing, siding, and window replacement jobs across our Southeast Nebraska territory leaving from the Beatrice shop each day. This isn't a "stand on one job site all day" role - you'll be moving around, checking in on crews, making sure quality and progress are where they need to be, running materials when a job needs them, and jumping in to help out when it counts. If you've got a good eye for catching problems early and the experience to know when a job needs your attention, we want to talk to you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Check in on multiple active job sites across the territory, keeping tabs on crew progress, quality, and safety
- Spot-check work - roof decking, underlayment, flashing, shingle/material installation, window and siding fit and finish - to make sure it's up to standard
- Run materials out to job sites when crews need them
- Jump in and help with hands-on parts of a job when extra hands or expertise are needed
- Be the go-to person when a crew runs into questions or issues on site
- Keep the Production Manager and office in the loop on job progress, delays, or anything that comes up
- Talk with homeowners on site when needed - answering questions, addressing concerns
- Keep safety front and center, especially fall protection and ladder safety on roofs
- Handle job documentation - photos, checklists, material usage
- Plan your days/weeks to efficiently cover your assigned sites
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Hourly pay, based on experience
- Company truck provided for job site travel
- Medical insurance (eligible after 90 days)
- 401(k) company match (eligible after 90 days)
- Dividend profit share, deposited into your 401(k) Paid vacation and sick leave (accrual basis)
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs and carry materials up and down ladders
- Comfortable standing, climbing, kneeling, and working at heights for extended periods
- Able to work outside in all kinds of weather, hot or cold
- Spends a good chunk of the day driving between sites
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in roofing, siding, window replacement, or general construction
- Experience leading or overseeing crews a big plus
- Solid working knowledge of roofing systems (asphalt shingle, underlayment, flashing) and siding materials (vinyl, LP SmartSide, fiber cement, etc.), plus window installation basics
- Can read job specs and material lists without issue
- Good communicator with solid judgment - you'll be making calls on your own a lot of the time
- Comfortable juggling multiple job sites in a day
- Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in all kinds of weather
- Reliable and ready to be on the road for most of the day
- Valid driver's license with a clean record
- Able to pass a background check

Roofing Jobs in Nebraska: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a roofing in Nebraska?
Nebraska does not issue a statewide roofing license through a single licensing board, but most municipalities and counties require contractors to register locally before pulling permits. Individual roofers typically enter the trade through an apprenticeship with a local contractor or through a union program such as those affiliated with the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers. Earning an OSHA safety card and gaining hands-on experience with a licensed contractor are the standard steps toward full-time employment.
Which companies hire roofings in Nebraska?
Employers hiring roofings in Nebraska right now include Shamrock Roofing and Construction, Leaf Home, and StrongHouse, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nebraska's active storm-repair market and steady residential construction pipeline mean that both regional roofing contractors and national property services firms maintain ongoing roofing crews throughout the state.
Which Nebraska cities have the most roofing jobs?
The Nebraska cities with the most roofing openings are Omaha, Lincoln, and Gering. Omaha's size and continuous commercial and residential construction activity generate the largest share of postings, while Lincoln's university-driven growth and Grand Island's role as a regional service hub sustain reliable demand for roofing crews in those markets.
Are there remote roofing jobs in Nebraska?
Yes, but they're rare. About 40% of roofing openings tied to Nebraska are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the hands-on, site-dependent nature of most roofing work. The small share of remote-eligible roles tends to be in estimating, project coordination, or sales positions within roofing companies rather than field installation work.
How can I get hired as a roofing in Nebraska with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to established Nebraska roofing contractors as a roofing helper or laborer, where on-the-job training is standard and no prior experience is required. Companies like Tecta America and regional Omaha and Lincoln contractors regularly bring on entry-level crew members each spring. Completing an OSHA 10 card before applying gives candidates a concrete edge, and contacting the local chapter of the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers in Omaha can connect new workers to formal apprenticeship programs that combine paid work with structured training.
Where can I find and apply to roofing jobs in Nebraska?
You can find and apply to roofing jobs in Nebraska on Migrate Mate, which lists current Nebraska openings from contractors and employers across the state. Search the listings, find the roles that fit your experience and location, and apply directly to the ones that match.
