Tips for Your Sales Training Manager Job Search
Quantify training impact on your resume
Hiring managers want to see outcomes, not activities. Replace bullet points like 'delivered training sessions' with metrics tied to rep ramp time, quota attainment lift, or retention rates after your programs rolled out.
Tailor your LMS experience to each listing
Sales training roles often specify a platform, Salesforce, MindTickle, Seismic, or Lessonly. Pull the exact tool name from the job description and make sure it appears prominently in your resume's skills section and in your cover letter.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists sales training manager openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Target roles aligned with your sales methodology
Companies using MEDDIC, Challenger, or SPIN Selling often screen for trainers who know that methodology cold. Filter your search by industry vertical to surface employers whose sales motion matches what you've actually built programs around.
Bring a sample curriculum to every interview
A one-page training module outline, even a mock one, demonstrates instructional design thinking that a resume can't. Use it during the interview when asked how you'd approach onboarding a new cohort of account executives.
Negotiate scope before accepting the offer
Clarify whether the role owns curriculum creation, delivery, or both, and confirm headcount and budget authority before signing. Sales training managers who discover they're purely facilitation-only after joining often find the role much narrower than advertised.
Sales Training Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most sales training managers?
The companies hiring the most sales training managers right now include Mosaic North America, Anytime Fitness, and Sherwin-Williams, with the largest share of openings in Texas, Florida, and California, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Demand tends to be highest at organizations scaling their sales teams rapidly or rolling out new products.
How many sales training manager jobs are remote?
About 36% of sales training manager openings are fully remote or hybrid as of August 2026, making it a more flexible role than many sales management positions. Sub-areas like LMS administration, e-learning content development, and virtual onboarding program management tend to attract the highest share of remote-eligible postings.
How do you become a sales training manager?
Start by building a strong foundation as a quota-carrying sales rep, which gives you the credibility to coach others. Move into a senior rep or team lead role where you mentor new hires, then formalize that experience by developing a training program or onboarding curriculum your employer adopts. Adding an instructional design certification strengthens your candidacy for dedicated training manager roles.
Can you get hired as a sales training manager without formal training experience?
Yes, but you need to reframe your sales career as evidence of training ability. Document any informal coaching, onboarding shadowing, or internal enablement projects you led. Creating a sample onboarding curriculum or a short recorded training module as a portfolio piece demonstrates instructional design aptitude and often matters more to hiring managers than a formal training title.
What does the sales training manager interview process look like?
Expect a phone screen focused on your sales background, followed by a structured interview with the sales leader and HR where you walk through a specific program you built and its measurable outcomes. Many employers add a practical exercise, typically a mock training delivery or a curriculum design case, before a final round with cross-functional stakeholders or an executive.
Where can I find and apply to sales training manager jobs?
