Security Analyst Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a security analyst in Delaware?
Delaware does not require a state-issued license specifically for security analysts, so the path runs through education and industry credentials. Most employers expect at least a bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information systems, or a related field, with certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or CISSP validating technical skills. Graduates from the University of Delaware or Delaware State University with relevant degrees are well positioned to enter the field directly, and many local employers in Wilmington's financial corridor prioritize candidates who already hold an active certification.
Which companies hire security analysts in Delaware?
Employers hiring security analysts in Delaware right now include JPMorganChase, CSC, and Target, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Delaware's concentration of major financial institutions and life sciences companies in the Wilmington and Newark areas drives consistent, year-round demand for security analyst talent.
Which Delaware cities have the most security analyst jobs?
Wilmington, Dover, and Newark account for the largest share of security analyst openings in Delaware. Wilmington dominates because of its dense cluster of financial services headquarters and corporate legal offices, while Newark benefits from proximity to the University of Delaware and its growing technology and life sciences corridor, and Dover draws demand from state government agencies and defense-related contractors.
Are there remote security analyst jobs in Delaware?
Yes, and more than most fields. Security analysis is largely desk-based and tool-driven, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 67% of security analyst openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader industry norms. Roles focused on threat monitoring, log analysis, and compliance reporting are the most consistently offered on a remote basis, while positions requiring hands-on lab access or cleared facility work typically remain on-site.
How can I get hired as a security analyst in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a security analyst role from an adjacent IT position such as help desk technician, network administrator, or systems support analyst. Large Delaware employers in the financial and healthcare sectors, including major Wilmington-area banks and health systems, regularly post junior security operations center roles that accept candidates without direct security experience. Earning CompTIA Security+ before applying signals readiness and is the credential Delaware hiring managers most consistently mention for entry-level candidates. Building a home lab or contributing to open-source security projects also strengthens an application without requiring formal work history.
Where can I find and apply to security analyst jobs in Delaware?
You can find and apply to security analyst jobs in Delaware on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit your background. No profile creation or sign-up is required to view or apply to openings.
