Security And Compliance Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a security and compliance in Florida?
Most Florida employers expect a bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information systems, business, or a closely related field as the starting point. From there, widely recognized certifications such as the CISSP, CISA, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ significantly strengthen a candidate's standing in the Florida market. Florida does not require a single state-issued license for most security and compliance roles, though positions touching healthcare data, financial services, or government contracts carry their own federal and industry-specific credential requirements.
How much do security and compliances make in Florida?
Security and compliances in Florida earn a median of about $124,860 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $75,410 for the lowest 10% to over $174,600 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire security and compliances in Florida?
Employers hiring security and compliances in Florida right now include Prescient Edge, Allied Universal, and Base-2 Solutions, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. Florida's concentration of healthcare systems, regional banks, defense contractors, and fintech companies means demand for compliance and security talent is spread across multiple high-activity sectors statewide.
Which Florida cities have the most security and compliance jobs?
Doral, Florida, and Davie account for the largest share of security and compliance openings in Florida. Miami's dense concentration of international financial institutions and fintech firms, Tampa's growing cybersecurity and insurance sector, and Jacksonville's large banking and healthcare employer base collectively drive most of the statewide posting volume, with suburban corridors around each metro adding additional opportunities.
Are there remote security and compliance jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields, because much of the work involves policy review, risk assessment, documentation, and monitoring that can be done off-site. About 50% of security and compliance openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of November 2026, reflecting the desk-based nature of the role. Positions in information security analysis, regulatory compliance review, and GRC program management tend to be the most remote-accessible.
How can I get hired as a security and compliance in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an adjacent IT, audit, or risk role, such as IT help desk analyst, internal audit associate, or junior risk analyst, where Florida employers like large hospital systems and regional banks routinely hire candidates without specialized compliance experience. Pursuing a CompTIA Security+ or the Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control credential early strengthens a resume considerably. Large Florida healthcare networks and financial institutions often post compliance coordinator or compliance analyst associate roles specifically designed for candidates building toward a full compliance career.
Where can I find and apply to security and compliance jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to security and compliance jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings from employers actively hiring in the state. Search the listings, identify the roles that match your experience and specialization, and apply directly to each one.
