Senior Project Management Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior project management in Florida?
The most direct path is earning a Project Management Professional certification through the Project Management Institute, which has no Florida-specific licensing board but is the de facto credential Florida employers require at the senior level. Most candidates build toward it with a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or information technology, several years of progressively responsible project roles, and documented hours leading projects, after which they sit the PMP exam and accumulate continuing education to maintain it.
How much do senior project managements make in Florida?
Senior project managements in Florida earn a median of about $98,070 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $59,070 for the lowest 10% to over $161,250 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior project managements in Florida?
Employers hiring senior project managements in Florida right now include Northrop Grumman, HDR, and JEA, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's concentration of defense contractors, hospital systems, and infrastructure developers means demand stays consistent throughout the year rather than spiking seasonally.
Which Florida cities have the most senior project management jobs?
Miami, Melbourne, and Florida have the most senior project management openings in Florida. Orlando leads because of its large technology corridor, major hospital networks, and ongoing transit and infrastructure investment, while Miami and Tampa draw demand from financial services headquarters, port logistics, and a growing base of corporate relocations that bring enterprise project management needs with them.
Are there remote senior project management jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than many fields. About 40% of senior project management openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how much of the coordination work happens through software rather than on a job site. Program and IT project management roles are the most likely to be fully remote, while construction and facilities-focused roles typically require an on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a senior project management in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a project coordinator or project administrator role, which large Florida employers like AdventHealth, Lockheed Martin, and the Florida Department of Transportation use as feeders into full project management tracks. Candidates without direct experience strengthen their profile by earning a Certified Associate in Project Management credential through the Project Management Institute, building a portfolio of volunteer or academic projects, and targeting Florida's construction, healthcare, and technology sectors where entry-level project support roles are most plentiful.
Where can I find and apply to senior project management jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to senior project management jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings updated regularly. Search for roles that match your experience level, preferred metro, and industry focus, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
