Senior Solution Architect Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior solution architect in Colorado?
Most Colorado employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related engineering field combined with several years of hands-on architecture or systems design experience. There is no state-issued license for solution architects in Colorado, so credentials like AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Microsoft Azure Solutions Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect carry the most weight. Building a portfolio of enterprise projects and progressing through roles such as systems engineer or technical lead are the typical stepping stones.
How much do senior solution architects make in Colorado?
Senior solution architects in Colorado earn a median of about $139,230 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $94,920 for the lowest 10% to over $206,600 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior solution architects in Colorado?
Employers hiring senior solution architects in Colorado right now include Optum, Viasat, and Attalon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Colorado's strong defense, aerospace, and enterprise software sectors mean that federal contractors and large technology firms are consistently among the most active hirers in the state.
Which Colorado cities have the most senior solution architect jobs?
Denver, Longmont, and Loveland have the most senior solution architect openings in Colorado. Denver dominates due to its concentration of enterprise technology firms, financial services companies, and federal agency offices, while Colorado Springs draws demand from the defense and intelligence contractors clustered around Fort Carson and Peterson Space Force Base, and Boulder's research and software ecosystem adds a steady stream of cloud and platform architecture roles.
Are there remote senior solution architect jobs in Colorado?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 67% of senior solution architect openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how much of this role involves documentation, stakeholder calls, and design work that translates naturally to distributed teams. The portions most commonly kept on-site are initial discovery sessions with clients and hands-on infrastructure validation, while ongoing architecture reviews and solution design cycles are frequently fully remote.
How can I get hired as a senior solution architect in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a junior or associate solution architect role from an adjacent position such as systems engineer, cloud engineer, or technical consultant, since Colorado employers like Leidos, DXC Technology, and SAIC regularly hire experienced engineers into architecture-track roles. Pursuing a recognized cloud certification before applying signals readiness and compensates for limited architecture titles on a resume. Many larger Front Range technology and defense firms also run rotational or associate programs that place engineers on architecture teams, giving candidates direct exposure before they hold the senior title.
Where can I find and apply to senior solution architect jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to senior solution architect jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current Colorado openings updated regularly. Search for roles that fit your experience level, specialization, and preferred location or remote arrangement, then apply directly to the ones that match.
