DESCRIPTION
The Alexa+ 3P Experiences team is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to lead technical partner integrations that bring third-party agentic capabilities and services into Alexa+ across diverse consumer categories.
Alexa+ is Amazon's next-generation personal AI assistant — rebuilt from the ground up on a modern architecture that orchestrates large language models (LLMs), agentic pipelines, and connected services at scale. Available across Echo (screened and non-screened), mobile, Fire TV, and Alexa.com, Alexa+ is designed to get things done through natural, capable, multi-turn interactions.
As a Senior Solutions Architect on this team, you'll serve as the technical face of Amazon for our most strategic partners — owning the integration lifecycle from first technical engagement through production launch. You'll work hands-on with partner engineering teams to design, validate, and ship integrations that feel native to Alexa+, while building the playbooks, reference architectures, and documentation that will scale the program beyond 1:1 engagement. As a founding contributor, the patterns and practices you establish will define how we work with partners across categories for years to come.
This role sits at the intersection of deep technical execution and strategic influence. You'll translate complex integration requirements into clear business value for partner stakeholders, drive alignment across Amazon's BD, product, and engineering organizations, and exercise strong judgment as integration patterns continue to evolve.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with modern integration protocols (including MCP), agentic system design, and full-stack fluency across backend services, API layers, and front-end rendering. You have a track record of delivering complex multi-party integrations and can move fluidly between a deep technical conversation with a partner's engineering team and a strategic discussion with their leadership.
Key job responsibilities
Technical Delivery & Partner Integration
- Design and deliver end-to-end partner integration solutions leveraging modern protocols and agentic patterns (e.g., MCP, tool-calling, REST), ensuring experiences feel native to Alexa+ while respecting partner brand and capabilities
- Work hands-on with partners to assess technical readiness, architect solutions across the full stack — from backend services and API design to front-end rendering — and troubleshoot complex integration challenges across multiple device surfaces
- Exercise strong judgment in ambiguous technical situations, determining appropriate solution strategies and making clear trade-off recommendations (e.g., partial vs. full E2E integration, link-out vs. native rendering)
Frameworks & Scalable Enablement
- Create reusable integration patterns, technical documentation, and onboarding playbooks that accelerate future partner launches and reduce hands-on SA effort over time
- Develop reference architectures that leverage horizontal capabilities (compositional rendering, streaming, smart routing) to address common partner needs across categories
- Contribute to self-serve tooling and developer resources that enable the program to scale beyond 1:1 SA engagement
Partner & Product Influence
- Own technical relationships with partner engineering and product teams, guiding integrations from commitment through launch
- Synthesize partner feedback, integration friction, and technical gaps into actionable product requirements for internal engineering teams
- Collaborate with product leadership during early capability formation, directly shaping the roadmap based on real partner integration learnings
A day in the life
We're looking for a highly motivated Sr SA to join the Alexa+ 3P Experiences team as we build out the third-party integration program from the ground up. You'll engage in deep technical design discussions, solve novel challenges spanning agentic architectures and front-end rendering, and coordinate feature implementations across partner categories. You'll represent the partner perspective with internal product and engineering teams — using integration learnings, data-driven analysis, and a working-backwards approach to influence roadmap priorities. This is a founding-team role: you'll shape how we work, what we build, and how we scale.
About the team
Our mission is to enable third-party partners to bring their agentic capabilities and services to Alexa+, creating high-quality experiences across consumer categories that help customers get things done. We are a small, high-impact team of technologists bridging BD, internal product and engineering, and external partners. We're in our foundational year — building the integration model, establishing the playbook, and launching our first wave of strategic partners. If you thrive in ambiguity, enjoy building from scratch, and want to shape a program that will scale to hundreds of partners, this is the team.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
- Working knowledge of LLMs and their application in generative AI systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
- Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS

Senior Solution Architect Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior solution architect in California?
The path to a senior solution architect role in California runs through a combination of a relevant bachelor's or master's degree and progressive enterprise IT experience, typically in software engineering, systems architecture, or infrastructure. California does not require a state-issued license for this role. Most California employers expect candidates to hold industry certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or TOGAF, which function as the primary credentialing benchmarks in the California market.
How much do senior solution architects make in California?
Senior solution architects in California earn a median of about $158,870 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $97,070 for the lowest 10% to over $224,930 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior solution architects in California?
Employers hiring senior solution architects in California right now include NVIDIA, Adobe, and Amazon Web Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's concentration of technology headquarters, defense contractors, and large financial institutions means the hiring pool is broad and fairly continuous throughout the year.
Which California cities have the most senior solution architect jobs?
San Francisco, Santa Clara, and San Jose have the most senior solution architect openings in California. The Bay Area leads because of its density of enterprise technology headquarters and cloud platform companies, Los Angeles draws demand from media, aerospace, and large consulting firms, and San Diego is anchored by defense contractors and a growing cybersecurity sector that relies heavily on senior architecture talent.
Are there remote senior solution architect jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. Senior solution architect work is largely design, documentation, and stakeholder engagement, which translates well to distributed teams. About 37% of senior solution architect openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how broadly California employers have adopted flexible arrangements for senior technical staff. The most remote-friendly sub-roles tend to be in cloud architecture and enterprise integration, where hands-on lab or data center access is minimal.
How can I get hired as a senior solution architect in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a software engineering, DevOps, or systems administration role into a solutions engineer or associate architect position. Large California technology employers and consulting firms such as Deloitte's California practices and mid-size Bay Area cloud consultancies regularly hire solutions engineers as a structured feeder role. Building a portfolio of architecture diagrams, infrastructure-as-code projects, or open-source contributions alongside a cloud associate certification gives candidates from adjacent roles a concrete edge in California hiring processes.
Where can I find and apply to senior solution architect jobs in California?
You can find and apply to senior solution architect jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings from employers across the state. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly from the listing.
