Senior Solution Architect Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior solution architect in Florida?
Most senior solution architects in Florida build toward the role by starting in software engineering, systems administration, or IT consulting and moving into architecture over several years. Florida employers consistently expect a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, along with practical architecture experience across cloud and enterprise systems. Earning vendor-recognized credentials such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional or TOGAF accelerates hiring consideration. No state-issued license is required to work in this role in Florida.
How much do senior solution architects make in Florida?
Senior solution architects in Florida earn a median of about $132,800 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $81,500 for the lowest 10% to over $184,680 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior solution architects in Florida?
Employers hiring senior solution architects in Florida right now include Philip Morris International, Accenture, and Connection, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's concentration of financial services firms, defense contractors, and healthcare technology companies means demand is spread across multiple industries rather than centered in a single sector.
Which Florida cities have the most senior solution architect jobs?
Tampa, Miami, and Saint Petersburg have the most senior solution architect openings in Florida. Miami drives demand through its financial technology and Latin American operations hub, Tampa is anchored by healthcare IT and defense contracting firms, and Orlando's mix of enterprise technology companies and hospitality-sector digital operations keeps consistent hiring active across all three markets.
Are there remote senior solution architect jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields. Architecture and solution design work is largely desk-based and collaborative through digital tools, making it well suited to remote arrangements. About 82% of senior solution architect openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how broadly distributed this work can be. The most remote-eligible portions of the role tend to be discovery, design documentation, and client advisory work rather than on-site implementation phases.
How can I get hired as a senior solution architect in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a junior solutions engineer or systems analyst role at a Florida-based consulting firm or technology services company, then building toward architecture responsibilities over time. Large Florida employers like Accenture and Deloitte run associate and analyst programs that accept candidates from adjacent roles such as software developer, infrastructure engineer, or technical account manager. Building a portfolio of architecture diagrams and earning an entry-level cloud certification, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, gives candidates a measurable edge in Florida's hiring market.
