Service Advisor Jobs in Austin: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a service advisor job in Austin?
Austin's highest hiring volume for service advisors comes from franchise auto dealerships along Research Boulevard and the Burnet Road corridor, plus heavy equipment dealers near the 183 Tech Corridor and RV retailers in Round Rock. Candidates with dealership management software experience and bilingual English-Spanish skills stand out in Austin's diverse market. Applying directly to dealer groups with multiple Austin locations tends to move faster than going through third-party recruiters.
Which companies hire service advisors in Austin?
Austin service advisor roles are posted by Tesla, Sam's Club, and Capitol Chevrolet and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Austin's mix of franchise dealer groups, independent specialty shops, and equipment rental companies means openings appear across a wider range of employer types than most Texas markets.
Are there remote service advisor jobs in Austin?
Yes, though remote work is uncommon for service advisors since most roles involve hands-on customer interaction and vehicle walkthroughs at a physical service lane. About 0% of service advisor openings tied to Austin are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with those positions mostly in warranty coordination, fleet account management, or manufacturer-side technical support roles.
How can I get a service advisor job in Austin with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Austin is a service porter or cashier role at a franchise dealership, where you learn service lane workflows before stepping into an advisor seat. Austin Community College's automotive technology program is recognized by local dealer groups as a credible starting point. Dealer groups with high service volume in Round Rock and Pflugerville tend to hire and train entry-level advisors more consistently than boutique shops.
