Global Sourcing Specialist (Indirect)

Role Overview
Coordinate and direct activities associated with procuring goods and services, including raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, advertising, and other indirect procurement categories. This role supports supplier management, contract negotiations, procurement strategy, and sourcing initiatives while ensuring compliance with company objectives and procurement standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Understand, establish, and issue Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for indirect procurements.

Establish, evaluate, and select suppliers to develop and maintain a qualified supplier base.

Review and evaluate monthly global sourcing data to support company direction and growth initiatives.

Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.

Manage contracts to verify vendor compliance with contractual requirements.

Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection personnel, quality teams, users, vendors, and other stakeholders to determine root causes and corrective actions.

Conduct supplier performance reviews related to quality, delivery, and reliability.

Establish long-term agreements with suppliers.

Support major procurement activities, including capital equipment purchases and new projects.

Resolve indirect procurement issues as they arise.

Maintain procurement records, including items or services purchased, costs, delivery performance, product quality, and inventory information.

Provide support to upper management in achieving corporate goals, objectives, and projects.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Education
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or a minimum of five (5) years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, engineering drawings, engineering specifications, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to prepare reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and basic database.
Management Skills: Ability to effectively communicate job task, goals and projects to global sourcing staff as well as manage and delegate when necessary.
