School-based positions additionally require a California credential issued through the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
How much do speech language pathologies make in California?
Speech language pathologies in California earn a median of about $118,970 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $79,750 for the lowest 10% to over $160,900 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire speech language pathologys in California?

About 0% of speech language pathology openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those roles are almost entirely in teletherapy, where clinicians deliver direct services via secure video platforms to school or home-based clients.
