Supply Chain Consultant Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a supply chain consultant in Texas?
Most supply chain consultant roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or logistics, though engineering and industrial engineering backgrounds are also widely accepted. Texas does not require a state-issued license for this role. Earning an APICS certification such as the CSCP or CPIM significantly strengthens your candidacy, and many Houston and Dallas employers list it as preferred. Graduate degrees in supply chain or MBA programs at schools like UT Austin or Rice add further competitiveness.
How much do supply chain consultants make in Texas?
Supply chain consultants in Texas earn a median of about $101,400 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $62,730 for the lowest 10% to over $168,420 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire supply chain consultants in Texas?
Employers hiring supply chain consultants in Texas right now include ExxonMobil, Alvarez & Marsal, and Boston Consulting, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of energy giants, global manufacturers, and large retailers makes it one of the most employer-diverse markets for this role in the United States.
Which Texas cities have the most supply chain consultant jobs?
Dallas, Houston, and Spring are the Texas cities with the most supply chain consultant openings. Houston leads because of its dense energy, petrochemical, and port logistics sector, while Dallas draws demand from corporate headquarters in retail, distribution, and financial services, and Austin's expanding tech and semiconductor manufacturing base has added a growing share of operations and procurement consulting roles.
Are there remote supply chain consultant jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than many operations roles, because the analytical and strategic components of consulting work transfer well to remote settings. About 17% of supply chain consultant openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, though implementation-heavy or plant-facing roles typically require on-site presence. Strategy, procurement, and network design work are the sub-areas most likely to offer flexible or fully remote arrangements.
How can I get hired as a supply chain consultant in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a supply chain analyst or operations coordinator role at a large Texas employer, then building toward consulting responsibilities. Companies like ExxonMobil, Toyota's North American headquarters in Plano, and major 3PLs based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area run rotational operations programs and new-graduate analyst tracks. A completed APICS CSCP or an internship through a Texas A&M, UT Austin, or University of Houston supply chain program gives candidates a concrete edge when experience is limited.
Where can I find and apply to supply chain consultant jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to supply chain consultant jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across Houston, Dallas, Austin, and other markets. Find roles that fit your experience and apply directly to the employers posting them.
