A Typical Day in the Life:
As a senior tax associate, you will provide accurate tax returns in a timely manner and assist in monitoring these returns, audits, notices, and research. You will also aid in the training, development, and workload monitoring of tax interns.
Responsibilities may include:
- Involved in training and delegating projects to interns/staff during tax season and monitoring workload.
- Effectively document work.
- Master prep of level 1 returns in assigned area. Review levels 2, 3, and 4 returns in assigned area.
- Utilize and enhance business writing skills by responding to Federal/State notices, writing department memos, and Teams posts.
- Coordinate with the assurance and accounting departments on pre-assigned returns to timely and accurately prepare client returns.
- Effectively research tax law, including intermediate and advanced questions.
- Demonstrate a general and growing knowledge of client businesses, as well as identify additional services for existing client base and prospective clients.
- Develop a general and growing knowledge or firm products and services.
- Assist in administrative functions, such as monitoring deadlines, extension, BNA and other workpaper and checklist roll forwards, etc.
- Responsible for achieving annual billable hour goals while maintaining high standards of client service and contributing to the firm's revenue, profitability, operational excellence, and other strategic initiatives.

- Two to four years' related experience and bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in an accounting related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Thorough knowledge of at least one type of income tax (business vs. individual) and working knowledge of the other.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other applicable certification(s) preferred.
- Maintain CPE requirements for all applicable licenses.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- May occasionally be required to attend client meetings, offsite training/seminars and other work-related events, and/or errands. May require use of personal vehicle.
