Territory Account Manager Jobs in Chicago: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a territory account manager job in Chicago?
Focus your search on Chicago's strongest hiring sectors: medical devices and pharma along the I-290 and I-88 corridors, food and beverage distributors headquartered in the suburbs, and enterprise software firms concentrated in the Loop and River North. Candidates who demonstrate familiarity with Chicago's regional geography, a portable book of relationships, and a history of meeting quota in a competitive metro market stand out most with local hiring managers.
Which companies hire territory account managers in Chicago?
Employers hiring territory account managers in Chicago right now include Pure Storage, Block, and Baxter, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Chicago's mix of corporate headquarters, regional distribution hubs, and healthcare systems means hiring comes from a wide range of employer types, from Fortune 500 firms to mid-market specialists with Midwest-focused sales territories.
Are there remote territory account manager jobs in Chicago?
Yes, though territory account management is inherently field-based, so fully remote roles are less common than in purely desk-driven sales positions. About 20% of territory account manager openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with most flexibility concentrated in inside sales support, account coordination, and roles covering broad Midwest territories where daily in-person coverage isn't feasible.
How can I get a territory account manager job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Chicago is through an inside sales or sales development representative role at a medical device company, distributor, or SaaS firm, then transitioning once you have quota history and product knowledge. Chicago-area distributors in food service, industrial supply, and healthcare consumables regularly hire entry-level reps and promote from within. Demonstrating knowledge of Chicago's neighborhoods and key accounts in your target vertical gives candidates a concrete edge over out-of-market applicants.
Which industries hire the most territory account managers in Chicago?
Most territory account manager openings in Chicago sit in Technology & Software, Science & Research, and Law & Legal Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Chicago's role as a Midwest logistics hub, combined with its concentration of healthcare systems, manufacturing headquarters, and enterprise technology firms, makes it one of the most active markets in the country for field sales talent.
