Tradewater
Digital Designer
Location: e.g. Remote - North America or Western Europe
A certified B Corp, Tradewater is on a mission to bend the curve on global warming as quickly as possible, directly combating climate change by identifying, collecting, and mitigating the release of non-CO₂ superpollutants—including old refrigerants, excess halons, and methane. These actions reduce potent greenhouse gases, protect the ozone layer, and generate high-integrity carbon credits that fund and expand our mission worldwide. Our projects also create measurable social and economic value for local communities, creating long-lasting benefits that strengthen economies and improve ecosystems endangering public health.
Targeting superpollutants offers one of the fastest, most cost-effective climate strategies available today. These non-CO₂ gases drive nearly half of all human-caused warming, are exponentially more potent than CO₂, and cannot be removed from the atmosphere once released. Cutting halocarbons and methane delivers bigger and faster climate benefits than CO₂ reductions alone and leading models, from MIT to the IPCC, agree that tackling superpollutants is essential to any credible net-zero pathway.
Since 2012, Tradewater has prevented over 10.6 million tons of CO₂ equivalent from releasing into the atmosphere and are on path to prevent at least 30 million tons by 2030. We are committed to bending the curve on global warming as quickly as possible and delivering trusted, measurable, scalable climate impact today.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Digital Designer
Frame your portfolio around systems thinking
TN officers evaluate whether your role requires specialized knowledge, not aesthetic skill. Organize your portfolio around design systems, component libraries, and product logic to demonstrate the technical depth the Computer Systems Analyst category requires.
Target employers with dedicated UX teams
Companies with in-house product or UX teams are more familiar with TN sponsorship than agencies. A dedicated digital product team signals the employer already understands how to structure a qualifying job description for your application.
Get the job description reviewed before signing
Your offer letter must tie the Digital Designer role to specialized knowledge in computer systems or digital platforms. Vague titles like 'creative lead' without technical scope can trigger a TN denial, so confirm the language is precise before accepting.
Search for TN-ready roles using Migrate Mate
Filtering job listings by TN visa eligibility saves time Canadian and Mexican designers waste applying to roles where employers haven't considered sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces Digital Designer positions from employers already open to TN hires.
Prepare a credential evaluation for non-traditional degrees
CBP officers at Canadian ports of entry expect a degree directly tied to the role. If your background is in graphic design, fine arts, or a related field, a credential evaluation that maps your coursework to digital systems strengthens your TN packet.
Understand Mexican TN allocation timing before your consular appointment
Mexico's TN allocation is managed annually. If you're a Mexican citizen booking a consular appointment late in the fiscal year, confirm current availability with your sponsoring employer so you aren't caught by an allocation gap mid-process.

Find Digital Designer JobsDigital Designer TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Digital Designer role actually qualify for a TN visa?
It depends on how the role is defined. TN visas don't have a dedicated Digital Designer category, but many positions qualify under Computer Systems Analyst when the work centers on designing interfaces, digital platforms, or software-integrated systems. Roles focused purely on branding or print work generally don't qualify. The job description your employer provides is the deciding factor.
How does the TN visa compare to H-1B for Digital Designers?
The TN visa has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, meaning you can apply any time of year and get a decision at the port of entry the same day. H-1B selection is randomized and limited to 85,000 slots per fiscal year. For Canadian and Mexican designers who qualify under TN, it's a faster and more predictable path than waiting for H-1B lottery results.
Can my employer sponsor a TN visa without prior immigration experience?
Yes. Unlike H-1B, TN sponsorship doesn't require the employer to file a petition with USCIS or pay government filing fees on your behalf. The employer provides a support letter, and you present it at the port of entry or consulate. Many smaller product companies sponsor TN visas without an immigration attorney because the process is simpler than other work visa categories.
Where can I find Digital Designer jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Most general job boards don't filter by TN visa eligibility, which means you spend time applying to roles where sponsorship isn't even on the employer's radar. Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals and surfaces Digital Designer listings from employers who are open to TN hires, so you're not guessing about sponsorship willingness from the start.
What documentation should I bring as a Canadian Digital Designer applying at the border?
You'll need your job offer letter explicitly describing the Digital Designer role in terms of specialized digital or computer systems work, proof of your qualifying degree or credentials, and your valid Canadian passport. CBP does not require advance filing, but a poorly worded offer letter is the most common reason TN applications are delayed or denied at the port of entry.
