Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Director Of Delivery
Frame your credentials around TN categories
Director of Delivery roles don't map to a single TN category. If your work centers on process optimization and client advisory, position yourself under Management Consultant. If delivery is engineering-led, an Engineering credential may apply. Your degree field drives which category holds.
Target employers with cross-border delivery operations
Companies running delivery programs across Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. are already familiar with visa sponsorship processes. Prioritize firms with established project management offices and recent work visa filings, which signal routine experience handling professional visa sponsorship and familiarity with employment authorization requirements.
Request an offer letter scoped for TN compliance
Your offer letter must describe professional-level duties tied to your TN category, not just your title. Vague language like 'oversee team operations' won't satisfy a CBP officer. Ask the employer to specify deliverables, client engagement scope, and the degree requirement for the role.
Prepare for CBP scrutiny on dual-function roles
Directors of Delivery often combine strategic planning with hands-on team management. CBP officers may question whether the role is genuinely professional or primarily supervisory. Bring documentation showing analytical and advisory components: statements of work, project charters, or client-facing deliverables you authored.
Use Migrate Mate to find employers already filing TN petitions
Searching broadly wastes time on employers unfamiliar with visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate filters Director of Delivery openings by companies with recent visa filings, so your application goes to hiring managers who already understand the sponsorship process and won't ask HR to start from scratch.
Align your Mexican consular appointment with your start date
Mexican nationals must complete consular processing rather than applying at the port of entry. Consulate appointment availability varies significantly by location. Confirm your interview date before accepting a firm start date from the employer, then notify your employer if the timeline needs adjustment.

Find Director Of Delivery JobsDirector Of Delivery TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Director of Delivery role qualify for TN visa status?
It depends on how the role is scoped and which TN category your employer uses. Roles centered on consulting, process improvement, or program advisory typically qualify under Management Consultant. Delivery roles with an engineering focus may qualify under the Engineer category. The job duties in your offer letter and your degree field must align with the category claimed at the border or consulate.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for Director of Delivery positions?
TN has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, so you can start the process as soon as you have a job offer. H-1B requires entering a randomized lottery with only a roughly 25% selection rate in recent years, and if selected, you can't start until October 1. For Director of Delivery roles, TN is faster and more predictable for Canadian nationals, though it requires continuous employer sponsorship and does not lead directly to a green card.
What documents do I need to support a Director of Delivery TN application?
You'll need a detailed employer offer letter describing your duties and confirming the role requires a professional-level degree, your original degree credential, and proof of Canadian or Mexican citizenship. If your degree is in a field adjacent to the TN category claimed, a credential evaluation and a letter connecting your qualifications to the specific role strengthens the application significantly.
How do I find employers willing to sponsor TN visas for Director of Delivery roles?
Most job listings don't advertise TN sponsorship explicitly, and approaching employers unfamiliar with the process often leads to rejections based on HR confusion rather than actual ineligibility. Migrate Mate is built specifically for this problem, letting you search Director of Delivery openings filtered to companies with TN visa sponsorship history so you can focus on employers already set up to hire you.
Can I switch employers while on TN status as a Director of Delivery?
Yes, but you must have authorization from USCIS or enter a new TN status before starting work with the new employer. Canadian citizens can apply for a new TN at a port of entry with the new employer's offer letter. Mexican nationals need to go through consular processing again. There is no grace period that allows you to start working for a new employer on your existing TN.
