Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as an Epic Applications Analyst
Match your credentials to Systems Analyst
TN approval for this role depends on qualifying under the Systems Analyst category. A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a closely related field is the cleanest credential match. Degrees in healthcare administration require a stronger job description to bridge the gap.
Target healthcare systems with Epic contracts
Focus your search on hospital networks and health systems that already run Epic EHR, not those mid-implementation. Established Epic shops have dedicated applications teams with recurring analyst headcount and are far more likely to structure a role that maps cleanly to the TN category.
Request an offer letter that names your module
Your offer letter must specify the Epic module you'll support, such as Ambulatory, Inpatient, or Resolute. A vague letter citing general 'IT support' duties raises TN adjudication risk. Module-specific language ties the role directly to systems analysis and strengthens your application at the border or consulate.
Clarify E-Verify enrollment before accepting an offer
Ask your prospective employer whether they're enrolled in E-Verify before you finalize an offer. Federal contractors and healthcare systems receiving federal funding are often E-Verify mandatory. Confirming this early avoids onboarding delays after you've already entered on TN status.
Prepare for Canadian border entry with a complete packet
As a Canadian, you can obtain TN status at a land port of entry or preclearance airport. Bring your offer letter, degree transcripts, and a copy of your Epic certification if you hold one. CBP officers have discretion, so a well-organized packet reduces back-and-forth questioning significantly.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Identifying which health systems actively sponsor TN visas for analyst roles takes research most job seekers skip. Use Migrate Mate to search for Epic Applications Analyst positions filtered by TN sponsorship, so you're only applying to employers already prepared to support your status.

Find Epic Applications Analyst JobsEpic Applications Analyst TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Epic Applications Analyst role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes, Epic Applications Analyst positions qualify for TN status under the Systems Analyst occupational category defined in the USMCA treaty. The role must involve analyzing, designing, or troubleshooting software systems, which Epic module configuration and optimization work satisfies. Your offer letter should describe these duties specifically rather than using generic IT titles, since CBP officers evaluate the substance of the role at entry.
How does TN compare to H-1B for Epic Applications Analyst roles?
TN has no annual cap and no lottery, so Canadian citizens can secure status in a single day at a U.S. port of entry without waiting for a fiscal year cycle. H-1B selection is lottery-based with roughly a 25 percent selection rate and a six-month wait between registration and start date. For most Canadian and Mexican Epic analysts, TN is the faster and more predictable path, provided the role and credentials map cleanly to the Systems Analyst category.
Can I switch Epic modules or employers on TN status?
Changing employers requires a new TN authorization because TN status is employer-specific. You can't begin work for a new health system on your existing approval. Switching modules within the same employer is generally acceptable as long as the role remains within the Systems Analyst category and your core duties don't materially change. If you're moving to a substantially different function, consult the new offer letter language carefully before assuming continuity.
How do I find Epic Applications Analyst jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Not all employers advertising analyst roles are prepared to sponsor TN status, even though TN sponsorship costs and complexity are lower than H-1B. Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for TN-sponsoring employers, letting you target health systems and Epic consulting firms that have already committed to supporting USMCA candidates rather than discovering their limitations late in the interview process.
Does Epic certification improve my TN application as a Canadian or Mexican professional?
Epic certification doesn't replace the degree requirement for TN status, but it strengthens the connection between your credentials and the specific role described in your offer letter. CBP officers and consular officials are evaluating whether you qualify as a Systems Analyst, and a module-specific certification like Ambulatory or Clarity corroborates that your work involves technical systems analysis rather than general administrative or support functions.
