Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Nursing Attendant
Verify your credential documentation before applying
TN classification for Nursing Attendants requires proof of relevant training or certification, not just a job offer. Gather transcripts, CPR certification, and any state-recognized nursing assistant credentials before reaching out to U.S. employers.
Target employers with active CMS certification
Hospitals and skilled nursing facilities certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services are accustomed to sponsoring foreign-national clinical staff. They maintain compliance infrastructure that makes TN sponsorship documentation faster and more straightforward for you.
Use Migrate Mate to find TN sponsorship-ready employers
Not every facility knows how to file TN paperwork for Nursing Attendants. Migrate Mate filters job opportunities by verified sponsorship history, so you're applying to employers already familiar with the process.
Ask about E-Verify enrollment during your offer stage
Federal contractors and many healthcare systems are required to use E-Verify. Confirming your prospective employer is enrolled before accepting an offer prevents delays in your I-9 completion after your TN status is granted.
Get your support letter drafted before your port of entry appointment
Canadian applicants present their TN support letter directly to a CBP officer. The letter must specify your job title as Nursing Attendant, your USMCA category, and your start date. Errors here cause denials on the spot.
Mexicans should apply at the consulate early in the hiring process
Mexican nationals require a visa stamp before entering the U.S. to work, so consular appointment wait times affect your actual start date. Align your employer's onboarding timeline with the consulate's current scheduling availability.

Find Nursing Attendant JobsNursing Attendant TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Nursing Attendant role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes. Nursing Attendants qualify under the USMCA's Medical/Allied Professionals category, which covers roles involving direct patient care and support in licensed healthcare settings. Your employer's offer letter must explicitly describe duties consistent with that category, and you must hold relevant training or certification recognized in your home country.
How does TN compare to H-1B for Nursing Attendant positions?
TN has no annual lottery, no cap for Canadians, and no lengthy USCIS adjudication period. H-1B requires a bachelor's degree in a specialty field and selection in a random lottery, which makes it impractical for most Nursing Attendant roles. TN can be granted at the Canadian port of entry the same day you present your documentation.
Where can I find Nursing Attendant jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking TN-eligible roles in the U.S. It surfaces employers with verified sponsorship experience so you're not cold-applying to facilities unfamiliar with TN filings. Searching by role and visa type narrows results to employers who can actually move the process forward.
Can I switch employers while on TN status as a Nursing Attendant?
Yes, but your TN status is tied to your specific employer and job description. If you change employers, you need a new TN authorization before starting work with the new facility. Canadian citizens can obtain this at a port of entry; Mexican nationals must return to a U.S. consulate for a new visa stamp.
What happens if my Nursing Attendant TN petition is denied at the border?
CBP officers adjudicate Canadian TN applications on the spot, and a denial means you cannot enter to work under that petition. Common causes include vague job descriptions, missing credentials, or a support letter that doesn't clearly link your duties to the USMCA Nursing Attendant category. You can reapply immediately with corrected documentation.
