Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Pre Sales Consultant
Align your degree to the role
TN status for Pre Sales Consultants typically routes through the Management Consultant category, which requires a relevant bachelor's degree. Make sure your transcript and degree title clearly map to the analytical or technical scope of the role, not just sales.
Request a detailed employer support letter
The offer letter your employer provides must specify that your duties involve consulting activities, not routine sales execution. Ask HR to describe your responsibilities in terms of client needs analysis, solution design, and advisory deliverables.
Target companies with recent visa filings
Pre Sales roles exist across software, manufacturing, and professional services. Focus on employers with recent visa filings, as they already understand work visa sponsorship requirements and won't need coaching through the process.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Searching broadly for Pre Sales jobs wastes time on employers unfamiliar with TN sponsorship. Migrate Mate filters roles by verified sponsorship history, so you reach hiring managers already prepared to support your TN application from day one.
Prepare for Canadian port-of-entry processing
Canadian citizens can obtain TN status directly at a U.S. land border or airport without a consular appointment. Bring your original degree, the signed employer letter, and a copy of the job offer. USCIS officers adjudicate on the spot.
Understand the Mexican consular appointment requirement
Mexican citizens must apply for a TN visa at a U.S. consulate and cannot use the port-of-entry route available to Canadians. Build in time for consular scheduling and gather all supporting documents before booking your appointment.

Find Pre Sales Consultant JobsPre Sales Consultant TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Pre Sales Consultant role qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
Yes, Pre Sales Consultant positions can qualify under the TN Management Consultant category, provided the role centers on advisory, analytical, or technical consulting activities rather than direct sales execution. The job offer letter must clearly describe duties like needs assessment, solution design, and client advisory work. USCIS or a CBP officer will evaluate whether the position genuinely fits the consulting definition.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for Pre Sales Consultants?
TN sponsorship is significantly more accessible for this role than H-1B. There is no lottery, no annual cap for Canadian citizens, and Canadian applicants can obtain TN status at a U.S. port of entry on the same day as their interview. H-1B requires employer sponsorship months in advance, a lottery selection, and a minimum six-month wait before the start date. For qualified Pre Sales Consultants, TN is the faster, more predictable path.
What documents does my employer need to provide for TN sponsorship?
Your employer must provide a signed support letter on company letterhead that describes your job title, a summary of your consulting duties, your anticipated length of employment, and confirmation that you hold the required degree. The letter is not filed with USCIS in advance for Canadian applicants. Instead, you present it alongside your credentials at the port of entry. For Mexican citizens, the letter accompanies the DS-160 application at the consulate.
Where can I find Pre Sales Consultant jobs that already offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically to connect Canadian and Mexican professionals with U.S. employers who have a verified history of TN visa sponsorship. Searching through Migrate Mate lets you target companies that already understand the TN process for consulting roles, which reduces negotiation friction and speeds up the offer-to-start timeline.
Can I switch Pre Sales Consultant employers while on TN status?
Yes, but TN status is employer-specific. If you accept a new Pre Sales role, your new employer must support a fresh TN application before you begin work. Canadian citizens can process the change at a port of entry with an updated support letter and credentials. Mexican citizens need a new consular appointment. USCIS does not transfer TN status between employers the way H-1B portability works under AC21.
