Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Radiologist
Verify your credentials meet TN requirements
TN classification for radiologists requires a medical degree recognized by the U.S. or Canada. If your degree is from a non-North American institution, have it evaluated before approaching employers. USCIS scrutinizes credential equivalency closely for physician roles.
Target teleradiology employers with remote licensing
Teleradiology companies frequently sponsor TN visas because they can deploy Canadian and Mexican radiologists across multiple states without requiring full in-person relocation. Confirm the employer holds the relevant state radiology licenses before accepting any offer.
Use Migrate Mate to find TN-ready radiology employers
Search Migrate Mate to identify hospital systems and imaging centers with recent visa filings and experience sponsoring work visas. Filtering by employer sponsorship activity helps you find roles at organizations familiar with visa-based hiring for specialized roles like radiology.
Ask employers about state medical licensure timing
Radiology practice requires a state medical license, and some states take months to process applications. Raise the licensure timeline with your prospective employer during negotiations so TN filing and state license approval are coordinated before your start date.
Separate your TN filing from board certification gaps
Canadian and Mexican radiologists completing fellowship or awaiting board certification results can still file for TN status if their medical degree and job offer satisfy the specialty occupation standard. Clarify certification status with your employer's legal team upfront.
Prepare a TN support letter addressing specialty occupation
Your employer's TN support letter must explicitly connect radiology duties to the specialty occupation definition under USMCA. Generic physician offer letters get rejected. Insist the letter details imaging modalities, supervisory structure, and the specific degree requirement for the role.

Find Radiologist JobsRadiologist TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Radiologist role qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
Yes. Radiologists qualify under the USMCA TN category for physicians in a specialty practice. The role must require a medical degree, and you must hold one. Diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, and neuroradiology all fall within the qualifying scope, provided your employer structures the offer letter to reflect specialty occupation requirements.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for radiologists?
TN is faster and more predictable for Canadian radiologists. There is no lottery, no annual cap, and Canadian citizens can often obtain TN status at a port of entry the same day. H-1B requires employer sponsorship months in advance, subjects you to lottery selection, and takes significantly longer to adjudicate. Mexican radiologists face a TN numerical limit, making H-1B a relevant alternative in some cases.
Can Mexican radiologists face TN denial due to the annual cap?
Yes. Mexico's TN allocation is capped annually, and demand from professionals across all qualifying occupations counts against it. If the cap is exhausted, Mexican radiologists must wait for the next fiscal year or explore H-1B or O-1 alternatives. Canadian radiologists are not subject to any cap.
Where can I find radiology employers that sponsor TN visas?
Migrate Mate lists employers with recent visa filings, including hospital networks, outpatient imaging centers, and teleradiology firms. Searching by occupation and visa type surfaces employers experienced with work visa sponsorship, which can streamline discussions about TN eligibility and reduce delays from employer-side unfamiliarity with the visa category.
What documents does a radiologist need to support a TN application?
You need a valid Canadian or Mexican passport, a qualifying medical degree, proof of any required board certifications or licensure, and a detailed employer support letter specifying the radiology position, duties, and the degree requirement. Canadian citizens typically present these documents directly at a U.S. port of entry. Mexican nationals must apply through a U.S. consulate in advance.
