Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Sales Support Specialist
Align your degree to the role description
TN eligibility for Sales Support Specialists hinges on a direct connection between your credentials and the job duties. A degree in business administration or marketing satisfies this; a general arts degree without relevant coursework often does not.
Request a support letter that names USMCA
Your employer's support letter must explicitly state that the position qualifies under USMCA and describe your day-to-day duties in detail. Vague letters citing only your job title are the most common reason CBP officers ask follow-up questions at the port of entry.
Target employers with recent visa filing experience
Search Migrate Mate for employers with recent visa filings in sales or business support roles. These companies already have experience with work visa sponsorship and are far more likely to support your TN application when you present your credentials and employer support letter at the port of entry or U.S. consulate.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified sponsoring employers
Search Migrate Mate to surface Sales Support Specialist roles at companies with confirmed TN visa sponsorship history. Filtering by employers who already sponsor cuts the back-and-forth of educating hiring teams about the process.
Prepare for USCIS filing if your employer prefers it
Mexican nationals and Canadians starting remote onboarding often go through USCIS rather than CBP. USCIS processing runs up to six months for standard applications, so align your start date accordingly and ask your employer early which route they intend to use.
Clarify CRM and quota duties before your petition is filed
If your Sales Support role includes commission-tracked activity or quota responsibility, make sure your support letter distinguishes your duties clearly. CBP officers sometimes conflate sales support with pure sales roles, which carry different specialty occupation scrutiny under TN adjudication.

Find Sales Support Specialist JobsSales Support Specialist TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Sales Support Specialist role qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
Yes, provided your position requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, marketing, or a related discipline, and your employer documents those requirements clearly. The TN category covers management consultants and business-adjacent roles, but your offer letter and support letter must demonstrate that the job genuinely requires that specialized degree-level knowledge, not just general sales skills.
How does the TN visa compare to H-1B for Sales Support Specialist positions?
The TN visa has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadians, so you can start the process as soon as you have a job offer. H-1B requires entering a lottery in March for an October start date, with no guarantee of selection. For Sales Support Specialists with Canadian or Mexican citizenship, TN is almost always the faster and more predictable route, assuming your degree aligns with the role.
Can Mexican nationals get TN sponsorship for Sales Support roles as easily as Canadians?
The process differs. Canadian professionals can get TN status approved at the port of entry on the same day. Mexican nationals must apply for a TN visa at a U.S. consulate in Mexico, which adds scheduling time and a visa stamp step. The qualification requirements are identical, but the processing path and timeline are different, so factor consulate appointment availability into your start date planning.
Where can I find Sales Support Specialist jobs that already offer TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by TN visa sponsorship, so you can search for Sales Support Specialist roles at employers who have already committed to sponsoring TN candidates. This avoids spending time in hiring processes only to discover at the offer stage that the company is unfamiliar with or unwilling to support the TN filing process.
What happens to my TN status if I change employers after starting a Sales Support role?
TN status is employer-specific. If you change companies, your new employer must file a fresh TN petition or support you through a new CBP entry before you begin work. You cannot carry your existing TN authorization to a new employer. Canadians can handle this at the port of entry, while Mexican nationals need to return through the consulate process, so plan any job transitions around that timeline.
