User experience research has no state-issued license or registration requirement in Texas. Most employers hire candidates with a bachelor's or master's degree in human-computer interaction, cognitive psychology, information science, or a related field. Building a portfolio of research case studies is the most important step, and Texas universities including UT Austin and Texas A&M offer programs specifically grounded in HCI and behavioral research that Texas tech and healthcare employers recognize.
How much do user experience researchers make in Texas?
User experience researchers in Texas earn a median of about $47,330 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $26,040 for the lowest 10% to over $82,060 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire user experience researchers in Texas?

Which Texas cities have the most user experience researcher jobs?

Austin leads because of its dense technology sector and concentration of software product companies, while Dallas draws demand from financial services firms and corporate headquarters, and Houston's large healthcare and energy organizations drive research hiring there.
