The VP of Marketing will own Cinelease's marketing strategy, brand, and go-to-market execution across all divisions and locations. Reporting to the executive team, you will set the vision for how Cinelease is positioned with studios, producers, and production professionals, and lead the people, budget, and programs that bring it to life.

You will partner closely with sales, operations, division leaders, and finance to translate business priorities into an integrated marketing plan tied to revenue, pipeline, and customer retention. This role combines executive leadership with a builder's mindset: you will shape strategy, lead a team, and stay close enough to the work to raise the quality of everything Cinelease puts into the world.

An initial priority will be a full assessment of Cinelease's brand, channels, and marketing operations, followed by a 12-month roadmap that aligns marketing investment with company growth goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and own the multi-year marketing strategy and annual plan, aligned with company growth targets across equipment rental, production services, and studio facilities.

• Serve as a member of the leadership team, bringing market, customer, and competitive insight into company decisions on pricing, expansion, and new services.

• Own the marketing budget, allocating investment across channels and programs based on measurable return.

• Define success metrics for marketing and report results to the executive team, including pipeline contribution, customer acquisition, retention, and brand health.

Brand & Positioning

• Own the Cinelease brand: positioning, messaging architecture, visual identity, and voice across every division, location, and channel.

• Lead customer and market research to sharpen understanding of studios, producers, line producers, gaffers, key grips, and other buyer segments.

• Ensure brand consistency while giving divisions and locations the flexibility they need to compete locally.

Go-to-Market & Growth

• Partner with sales leadership to build integrated campaigns that generate qualified demand and support key accounts, new markets, and service launches.

• Lead digital marketing, including website, SEO, paid media, email, CRM, and marketing automation, with clear attribution to business outcomes.

• Oversee industry presence, including trade shows, sponsorships, events, guild and association relationships, and customer programs.

• Lead public relations and corporate communications, including thought leadership, press relationships, and announcements.

Content, Social & Creative

• Set the direction and standards for social media, content, photography, video, and design, ensuring work showcases Cinelease's people, equipment, facilities, and productions.

• Build an efficient creative workflow that supports both planned campaigns and timely opportunities.

• Ensure all published content respects usage permissions, client confidentiality, and production NDAs.

Team & Operations

• Build, lead, and develop a marketing team, including hiring, coaching, and setting clear goals, plus management of agencies and freelance partners.

• Establish marketing operations: tools, processes, reporting dashboards, and asset management that scale across divisions.

• Collaborate across sales, operations, People & Culture, and finance on internal communications, employer branding, and recruiting support.

• At least 12 years of marketing experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role (Director level or above) with ownership of strategy, budget, and team.

• Proven record of building marketing programs that drove measurable revenue, pipeline, or market-share growth.

• Experience building and leading marketing teams, and managing agencies and outside partners.

• Strong B2B marketing background, including account-based marketing, sales enablement, and close partnership with sales leadership.

• Command of digital marketing, marketing technology, CRM, and analytics, with the ability to tie spend to business results.

• Demonstrated brand leadership, including positioning, messaging, and creative direction across multiple channels.

• Executive presence and excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and represent Cinelease externally.

• Sound judgment in managing competing priorities, budgets, and timelines across divisions.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in film and television production, equipment rental, studio operations, or entertainment-industry B2B services.

• Existing relationships across studios, production companies, guilds, or industry associations.

• Experience marketing a multi-location, multi-division, or multi-brand organization.

• Experience supporting growth through new markets, acquisitions, or service launches.

• A strong eye for visual storytelling and hands-on familiarity with photography, video, and design.

• A degree in marketing, communications, business, film, or a related field; MBA a plus, or equivalent practical experience.
