INTRODUCTION
Burr & Forman LLP is seeking to hire a part-time experienced legal nurse consultant, approximately 50-90 hours a month. This position will be a part of our Health Care Practice Group and will assist the group in analyzing medical records. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of nursing clinical experience. Experience in senior care facilities is a plus. This position can be hybrid located within one of our available office locations or fully remote within select states in our footprint.
KEY CONTRIBUTIONS
- Process record requests and obtain medical records from facilities.
- Confirm that records are complete or identify missing records and develop additional documents to request.
- Review, summarize, and analyze medical records and other pertinent health care and legal documents.
- Perform medical record gap analysis.
- Draft medical chronologies and provide analysis of medical issues in the case.
- Perform clinical research as needed.
- Other responsibilities as needed.
THE ESSENTIALS
- BSN or RN degree with at least five years of nursing experience, preferably in senior care.
- Familiarity with Point Click Care (PCC) and Matrixcare.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and clinical standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with a desire to take ownership as a contributing member of the team.
- Balance competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment, exercising patience and professionalism during stressful situations.
- Strong communication and drafting skills.
