INTRODUCTION
The Maintenance Technician I will be involved in work of a varied nature to maintain physical assets in a condition desired by management and in compliance with industry standards and government regulations. The primary result expected from the Maintenance Technician I will be ensuring and improving the operation of all equipment associated with the coffee manufacturing process and control system equipment with a medium degree of self-sufficiency. This position will report to the Director of Maintenance.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Effectively and independently diagnose, plan, and perform all operations necessary to install, modify, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, rebuild, and dismantle various types of complex manufacturing and support equipment with special focus on advanced troubleshooting on control systems, servo drives, motors, gearboxes, VFDs, HMIs, and PLCs on complex high-speed packaging lines.
- Perform with minimal direct supervision and demonstrate a medium degree of self-sufficiency in resolving mechanical and/or electrical issues as they arise.
- Provide preventative, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing production equipment, as well as building equipment.
- Coordinate with other technicians, production personnel, engineering, management, and other personnel to communicate and plan maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with equipment/service vendors for OEM assistance.
- Perform mechanical and/or electrical work daily.
- Perform unscheduled or emergency repairs on equipment when needed.
- Troubleshoot and correct complex problems on manufacturing equipment by repairing and/or replacing needed parts in a timely manner.
- Identify and design opportunities for maintenance or process improvement and drive recommendations to implementation or resolution.
- Follow all maintenance procedures including inspections and repairs.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Comply with regulatory procedures, Westrock Coffee and departmental policies, GMP and safety standards.
- Assist other maintenance technicians as priorities dictate, time allows or directed.
- Responsible for disseminating information to other technicians in the form of training, advising, and/or directing.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- Must obtain certification to operate MEWPs and Class 1-7 Forklifts.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
- All applicants must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Industrial Maintenance field.
- Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance or equivalent education to include vocational/technical certificate strongly preferred.
- Ability to pass CMT-1 certification test within 60 days of employment.
- Experience with 3-phase motors, gearboxes, bearings, solenoid valves, vacuum pumps, chains, sprockets, belts, rollers, star wheels, pneumatics, chillers, contractors, relays, fuses, breakers, photoelectric sensors, ultrasonic sensors.
- Minimum of 1 year experience utilizing CMMS software such as SAP, Fiix, etc.
- LOTO and Arc Flash training.
- Must exhibit a high degree of troubleshooting in HMIs, Mechanical, and Electrical.
- Must have experience utilizing Microsoft Office for E-mail, Word, and Excel.
- Will be required to obtain certification to operate MEWPs and Class 1-7 Forklifts.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Industrial Electrician Certification.
- 5+ years' experience of manufacturing maintenance in a food grade facility.
- Allen Bradley VFD training.
- Ability to read and understand complex instructions, prints, flowcharts, timing diagrams, and schematics.
