Which companies sponsor visas for physical therapy assistants in Colorado?
Large healthcare systems are the most consistent sponsors for physical therapy assistants in Colorado. UCHealth, Centura Health, and SCL Health have filed H-1B visa and PERM applications for therapy roles across their hospital and outpatient networks. Skilled nursing facility operators, including Ensign Group locations in the Denver metro, and national rehabilitation staffing groups with Colorado contracts have also sponsored PTAs in the past.
Which visa types are most common for physical therapy assistant roles in Colorado?
H-1B is the most common visa for physical therapy assistants in Colorado, given that PTA roles typically require an associate degree in a specialized field and licensure, meeting USCIS specialty occupation criteria. EB-3 immigrant visas are also used, particularly by skilled nursing facilities sponsoring experienced PTAs for permanent residence. Some internationally trained PTAs enter on TN visa status if they are Canadian or Mexican nationals, provided the role qualifies under USMCA occupational categories.
How to find physical therapy assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find physical therapy assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado. The platform filters job listings by sponsorship willingness, so you can see which Colorado employers are actively open to sponsoring PTAs rather than sifting through general job postings. Focusing your search on large health systems and long-term care networks in Denver, Colorado Springs, and the Front Range tends to surface the most relevant opportunities.
Which cities in Colorado have the most physical therapy assistant sponsorship jobs?
Denver and the surrounding metro area account for the largest share of PTA sponsorship jobs in Colorado, driven by the density of hospital networks, outpatient clinics, and rehabilitation centers. Colorado Springs is a secondary hub, with a significant presence of military-affiliated and civilian healthcare facilities. Fort Collins and Boulder also see consistent PTA demand, partly fueled by active adult populations and proximity to the University of Colorado Health system.
Are there state-specific licensing requirements that affect visa sponsorship for PTAs in Colorado?
Yes. Colorado requires PTAs to hold an active license from the Colorado Physical Therapy Board before practicing, which means employers sponsoring a foreign-trained PTA must verify that the candidate's credentials have been evaluated and that licensure is obtainable. Foreign-educated applicants typically need a credentials evaluation through an approved body. Employers factor in the time required for licensure into their sponsorship timelines, so candidates who have already initiated the evaluation process are generally more competitive.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored physical therapy assistant jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
