Which companies sponsor visas for physician assistants in Colorado?
UCHealth, Centura Health, SCL Health, and Children's Hospital Colorado are among the larger employers in Colorado with established visa sponsorship programs for physician assistants. Federally Qualified Health Centers and rural critical access hospitals across the state also sponsor PAs, particularly for roles in underserved areas where recruitment demand is consistently high.
Which visa types are most common for physician assistant roles in Colorado?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for physician assistants in Colorado, as PA roles generally qualify as specialty occupations requiring a master's degree. Some employers in underserved areas pursue J-1 visa waivers through Colorado's Conrad 30 program, which can convert a J-1 to work authorization in exchange for a service commitment at a designated shortage-area site.
Which cities in Colorado have the most physician assistant sponsorship jobs?
Denver and its surrounding metro area, including Aurora and Lakewood, account for the majority of physician assistant sponsorship positions in Colorado due to the concentration of large hospital systems and specialty practices. Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, and Pueblo also have active PA hiring, and rural mountain communities frequently post openings tied to federal shortage-area designations.
How to find physician assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate filters physician assistant jobs in Colorado specifically by visa sponsorship availability, saving you from manually screening hundreds of listings. The platform surfaces roles from health systems, clinics, and rural health centers across the state that have indicated willingness to sponsor international candidates, which is particularly useful given how inconsistently employers advertise sponsorship in standard job postings.
Are there state-specific considerations for physician assistants seeking sponsorship in Colorado?
Colorado's Conrad 30 J-1 waiver program is a meaningful pathway for internationally trained physicians and PAs with J-1 obligations, requiring a three-year service commitment at a health professional shortage area site. Colorado also has active PA hiring in its mountain resort communities, where seasonal demand and limited local supply create consistent openings, though these smaller employers may have less experience navigating formal sponsorship processes.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored physician assistant jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
