Which companies sponsor visas for C.N.A.s in Delaware?
ChristianaCare, Delaware's largest private employer and a major health system operating Christiana Hospital and Wilmington Hospital, has a history of sponsoring healthcare workers. Bayhealth Medical Center in Dover and Genesis Healthcare's skilled nursing facilities across the state also recruit C.N.A.s. Smaller long-term care operators and federally qualified health centers in New Castle County occasionally sponsor as well, particularly when facing persistent staffing shortages.
Which visa types are most common for C.N.A. roles in Delaware?
The EB-3 immigrant visa is the most common pathway for C.N.A.s, as the role is classified as unskilled or semiskilled labor under immigration law, making it eligible for third-preference immigrant visa sponsorship. Some employers use the H-2B visa temporary nonagricultural worker visa for short-term nursing assistant needs in long-term care settings, though availability is subject to annual caps. The TN visa is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying healthcare occupations.
How to find c.n.a. visa sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, letting you search C.N.A. roles in Delaware without manually screening hundreds of postings. You can browse openings at health systems and long-term care facilities across Wilmington, Newark, and Dover that have indicated sponsorship willingness. Filtering by state and role on Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to reviewing general job boards where sponsorship status is rarely disclosed upfront.
Which cities in Delaware have the most C.N.A. sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington, as Delaware's largest city and home to ChristianaCare's main campuses, has the highest concentration of C.N.A. positions. Newark, adjacent to Wilmington and near the University of Delaware, supports a secondary cluster of healthcare facilities. Dover, the state capital, anchors healthcare hiring in Kent County through Bayhealth Medical Center. Smaller communities in Sussex County, including Milford and Georgetown, have long-term care facilities that periodically recruit C.N.A.s.
Are there state-specific considerations for C.N.A. visa sponsorship in Delaware?
Delaware requires C.N.A.s to hold active certification through the Delaware Nurse Aide Registry before beginning work, and international candidates must verify their foreign training or credentials meet state standards prior to employment. The state's proximity to Philadelphia expands the regional healthcare market, meaning some Delaware employers draw on cross-border hiring pipelines. Employers filing EB-3 petitions must complete a PERM labor certification with the Department of Labor, which includes documenting recruitment efforts in the local Delaware labor market.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored c.n.a. jobs in Delaware?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
