Tips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship Jobs in Delaware
Target Delaware's pharmaceutical and chemical employers directly
Companies like AstraZeneca and Incyte, headquartered in the Wilmington area, have established PERM filing histories. Research their immigration sponsorship track record through DOL PERM disclosure data before applying to gauge how actively they sponsor Green Cards.
Use OFLC disclosure data to verify sponsorship activity
The Department of Labor publishes PERM application data quarterly. Search Delaware employer names to confirm they've filed labor certifications recently, which is a reliable indicator they'll sponsor again for qualified candidates in similar roles.
Focus your search on Wilmington's financial district
Wilmington hosts major banking and credit card operations, including large back-office and compliance functions. These employers regularly sponsor Green Cards for finance, technology, and legal roles. Concentrate your applications in this corridor for the highest employer density.
Browse sponsorship-verified roles on Migrate Mate
Filtering through general job boards wastes time because sponsorship status is rarely disclosed upfront. Migrate Mate lists roles specifically tied to visa sponsorship, making it faster to identify Delaware employers actively willing to support Green Card processes.
Pursue EB-2 or EB-3 categories based on your qualifications
Delaware employers commonly file under EB-2 for roles requiring advanced degrees and EB-3 for professional positions. Understanding which category fits your background helps you target the right employers and roles during your Delaware job search.
Build relationships within Delaware's university and research ecosystem
The University of Delaware and nearby research institutions in the Wilmington area employ international researchers and faculty. Academic roles and affiliated private-sector positions often come with institutional support for Green Card sponsorship through the EB-1 or EB-2 NIW pathways.

Which industries in Delaware sponsor the most Green Cards?
Pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing, financial services, and information technology are Delaware's most active Green Card sponsoring industries. Wilmington's concentration of banking headquarters and the Route 202 life sciences corridor generate the highest volume of PERM labor certification filings. Engineering and professional services firms also contribute meaningfully to sponsorship activity statewide.
Which cities in Delaware have the most Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington accounts for the overwhelming majority of Green Card sponsorship activity in Delaware, driven by its pharmaceutical employers, major bank operations, and corporate legal sector. Newark, home to the University of Delaware and surrounding research parks, is the second most active area, particularly for science, technology, and academic roles.
What types of roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Delaware?
Roles requiring a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field are most commonly sponsored. In Delaware, this includes software engineers, financial analysts, chemists, biomedical researchers, compliance officers, and clinical scientists. Positions where the employer can demonstrate no qualified U.S. worker is available, which is the PERM standard, are the ones most likely to receive sponsorship support.
How do I find Green Card sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, listing roles from employers willing to support visa and Green Card sponsorship so you're not sorting through listings that never mention immigration support. Beyond that, searching DOL PERM disclosure data for Delaware filings reveals which specific employers have sponsored in the past, giving you a targeted list of companies worth approaching directly.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card jobs in Delaware?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
