Which companies sponsor visas for technical program managers in Delaware?
Delaware's largest visa sponsors for technical program manager roles include JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Capital One in Wilmington's financial technology sector, along with life sciences employers like AstraZeneca and Incyte. DuPont and Chemours sponsor technical roles tied to R&D program management. Sponsorship activity is concentrated among large enterprises with established immigration programs, not startups.
Which visa types are most common for technical program manager roles in Delaware?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for technical program managers in Delaware, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Employers also sponsor L-1B visas for internal transfers with specialized knowledge. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for TN visa status under the USMCA.
Which cities in Delaware have the most technical program manager sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington is by far Delaware's primary hub for technical program manager roles, driven by its concentration of financial services headquarters and pharmaceutical companies. Newark is a secondary market, benefiting from proximity to the University of Delaware and a small cluster of technology employers. Dover sees limited activity in this role, primarily through state government contractors.
How to find technical program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse technical program manager openings in Delaware without sifting through roles that don't offer sponsorship. Because Delaware's market is smaller than neighboring Pennsylvania or New Jersey, setting up alerts on Migrate Mate for this specific role and state ensures you see new postings as they appear from Wilmington-area employers.
Are there any Delaware-specific considerations for technical program managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Delaware's small geographic size means most sponsored technical program manager roles are concentrated in New Castle County, particularly Wilmington. The state's dominance in financial services and life sciences means employers often require domain knowledge beyond pure technology program management. The University of Delaware's engineering and computer science programs create a steady local talent pipeline, so international candidates benefit from demonstrating specialized industry expertise to differentiate their applications.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical program manager jobs in Delaware?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
