Which companies sponsor visas for technical program managers in Tennessee?
Large employers with consistent H-1B sponsorship records for technical program managers in Tennessee include HCA Healthcare and its technology subsidiaries in Nashville, Nissan North America in Smyrna, FedEx in Memphis, and Bridgestone Americas. Nashville's expanding healthcare IT sector also includes companies like Change Healthcare and Genapsys that have filed LCAs for program management roles.
Which visa types are most common for technical program manager roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for technical program managers in Tennessee, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation requirement. Candidates already holding L-1 intracompany transfers or those with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may also qualify under TN status using the engineer or computer systems analyst categories.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most technical program manager sponsorship jobs?
Nashville accounts for the largest share of technical program manager sponsorship activity in Tennessee, driven by its healthcare technology and financial services sectors. Memphis is a secondary hub, with FedEx and logistics-adjacent technology employers filing LCAs for program management roles. Chattanooga has seen growing activity tied to Volkswagen, manufacturing technology, and a developing startup community supported by the city's high-speed fiber infrastructure.
How to find technical program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify technical program manager openings in Tennessee where employers are actively willing to sponsor. You can search by role and state to surface positions at Nashville healthcare tech firms, Memphis logistics companies, and Chattanooga manufacturing employers rather than sifting through listings where sponsorship status is unclear.
Are there any state-specific considerations for technical program managers seeking sponsorship in Tennessee?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which affects prevailing wage calculations employers must meet under DOL Labor Condition Application requirements, though federal standards still apply. Nashville's Vanderbilt University and the University of Tennessee produce engineering and computer science graduates that create local hiring pipelines, and some Tennessee employers sponsor OPT extensions before pursuing full H-1B sponsorship for candidates they've already worked with.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical program manager jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
