Which companies sponsor visas for technical program managers in New York?
Large technology and financial services companies are the most consistent sponsors for technical program manager roles in New York. Employers such as Google, Amazon, Meta, IBM, JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and Citigroup have established sponsorship programs and frequently file H-1B petitions for TPM positions. Consulting firms including Accenture and Deloitte also sponsor regularly for client-facing technical program management work across their New York offices.
Which visa types are most common for technical program manager roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa for technical program managers in New York, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation requirement. Australian citizens may qualify for the E-3 visa instead. Candidates already holding L-1 status through an intracompany transfer are also common in New York, particularly within global technology and consulting firms.
Which cities in New York have the most technical program manager sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan accounts for the overwhelming majority of technical program manager sponsorship jobs in New York, driven by its concentration of technology companies, financial institutions, and media firms. Brooklyn's growing tech corridor, particularly around DUMBO and the Brooklyn Navy Yard, has added a secondary cluster. Albany and Buffalo have a smaller number of opportunities tied to government technology initiatives and regional healthcare systems, but Manhattan remains the primary hiring market by a wide margin.
How to find technical program manager visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and filters technical program manager jobs in New York by employers who actively sponsor. Rather than sorting through listings where sponsorship status is unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces roles from companies with documented H-1B and E-3 sponsorship history in New York, saving significant time for candidates on tight visa timelines such as OPT expiration or a 60-day grace period.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for technical program managers seeking visa sponsorship?
New York's prevailing wage requirements apply to H-1B petitions filed for TPM roles and are set based on the specific work location, meaning Manhattan positions typically carry higher prevailing wage levels than other parts of the state. New York also has a strong university pipeline through Columbia, NYU, and Cornell Tech, which feeds international OPT candidates into TPM roles. Candidates should note that New York City-based employers in financial services may have additional internal compliance review processes before initiating sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical program manager jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
