Which companies sponsor visas for technical program managers in Florida?
Defense and aerospace contractors including Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and L3Harris in the Orlando and Melbourne corridor regularly sponsor technical program managers. In South Florida, companies like Chewy, Modernizing Medicine, and various fintech firms have active TPM hiring. Large enterprise tech employers and government contractors across Tampa Bay also sponsor H-1B visa petitions for this role category.
Which visa types are most common for technical program manager roles in Florida?
The H-1B is the most common visa for technical program managers in Florida, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical field such as computer science, engineering, or information systems. Candidates already holding L-1B or TN visa status who transfer to Florida-based employers also appear frequently in disclosure data.
Which cities in Florida have the most technical program manager sponsorship jobs?
Orlando leads due to its concentration of defense, simulation, and aerospace employers along the I-4 corridor. Miami and Fort Lauderdale follow, driven by fintech, healthtech, and enterprise software companies. Tampa Bay is a fast-growing third hub, with technology operations for financial services firms like Raymond James and Jabil creating consistent TPM sponsorship activity.
How to find technical program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it practical to search for technical program manager roles in Florida without sifting through positions that don't sponsor. You can narrow results by city, filtering for Orlando, Miami, or Tampa depending on which industry cluster aligns with your background in defense, fintech, or enterprise technology.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for technical program managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Florida has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since the Department of Labor's wage calculations are based on regional cost-of-labor data, not tax treatment. Orlando's defense sector often requires security clearance eligibility, which can limit sponsorship options for some foreign nationals. University programs at UCF and University of Florida also generate strong local TPM pipelines that employers draw from.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical program manager jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
