Which companies in Kentucky sponsor visas for technical program managers?
Humana is the most prominent Kentucky-based sponsor for technical program managers, given its large technology division in Louisville. Lexmark International in Lexington has also filed sponsorships for senior technical roles. Beyond these anchor employers, regional healthcare systems, logistics technology firms, and manufacturers with dedicated engineering teams have sponsored TPMs through H-1B and other work visa categories.
Which visa types are most common for technical program manager roles in Kentucky?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for technical program managers in Kentucky. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field. Candidates already holding L-1A or O-1 status sometimes transition into TPM roles, and Canadian or Mexican nationals may explore TN status under the engineer classification depending on their background.
Which cities in Kentucky have the most technical program manager sponsorship jobs?
Louisville accounts for the largest share of technical program manager sponsorship activity in Kentucky, driven by Humana's technology operations and a cluster of healthcare IT companies. Lexington is the second-most active city, anchored by Lexmark and the University of Kentucky's affiliated research and technology partnerships. Smaller pockets of demand exist near major manufacturing and logistics corridors in Northern Kentucky, close to the Cincinnati metro.
How to find technical program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Kentucky?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles offering visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to search for technical program manager positions in Kentucky without sorting through employers unlikely to sponsor. The platform is built for international candidates, so listings reflect actual sponsorship willingness rather than generic job postings. Filtering by Kentucky and the technical program manager role category surfaces relevant openings from healthcare IT, manufacturing technology, and enterprise software employers active in the state.
Are there state-specific factors that affect technical program manager hiring and sponsorship in Kentucky?
Kentucky's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B technical program managers are set at the metropolitan level, so Louisville and Lexington positions carry different wage floor obligations than rural postings. The University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville produce engineering and computer science graduates who feed into local TPM pipelines, which means some employers are already familiar with OPT-to-H-1B transitions. Kentucky does not impose state-level visa sponsorship restrictions beyond federal requirements.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical program manager jobs in Kentucky?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
