Which companies in Texas sponsor visas for technical program managers?
Large technology and telecommunications employers in Texas are among the most active H-1B visa sponsors for technical program managers. Dell Technologies, Texas Instruments, AT&T, and NXP Semiconductors have consistent sponsorship histories in this role. Austin-based companies like Apple, Google, and Oracle, which have significant Texas offices, also file regularly for technical program managers through the LCA disclosure data.
Which visa types are most common for technical program manager roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for technical program managers in Texas, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. L-1B intracompany transfers are also used by multinationals moving senior program managers into Texas offices. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose credentials align with the role's requirements.
Which Texas cities have the most technical program manager visa sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads in technical program manager sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of major tech campuses and semiconductor companies. Dallas and its northern suburbs, particularly in the Telecom Corridor around Richardson and Plano, are strong markets through employers like Ericsson and Cisco. Houston contributes opportunities through energy-tech and aerospace employers, including NASA Johnson Space Center contractors and companies like Schlumberger.
How to find technical program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search for technical program manager roles in Texas without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. The platform surfaces employers with active sponsorship histories for this role across Austin, Dallas, and Houston, saving significant time during a job search where sponsorship confirmation is the first filter that matters.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for technical program managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Texas hosts several major research universities, including UT Austin, Texas A&M, and Rice University, which create a steady pipeline of OPT candidates that local employers are familiar with sponsoring. The state's lack of income tax has accelerated tech employer expansion, which tends to increase sponsorship volume over time. Technical program managers should confirm their specific role title and degree field align with the H-1B specialty occupation definition, as program management roles can face additional documentation requests if the degree-to-job connection is not clearly articulated.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical program manager jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
