Which companies sponsor visas for technical program managers in Missouri?
Boeing in St. Louis is among the most active sponsors for technical program managers in Missouri, particularly for aerospace and defense programs. Oracle Health (formerly Cerner) in Kansas City has a documented H-1B sponsorship history for technical program management roles in healthcare IT. Larger financial services firms and federal contractors operating in both cities also regularly file H-1B petitions for these positions, though sponsorship decisions vary by role and business need.
Which visa types are most common for technical program manager roles in Missouri?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for technical program managers in Missouri, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science, engineering, or information systems. Candidates already on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT extension can work while an employer pursues H-1B sponsorship. L-1A transfers are also an option for program managers moving within a multinational company.
Which cities in Missouri have the most technical program manager sponsorship jobs?
St. Louis and Kansas City account for the large majority of technical program manager visa sponsorship opportunities in Missouri. St. Louis is anchored by Boeing and a cluster of defense and aerospace contractors, while Kansas City's healthcare IT sector, led by Oracle Health, generates steady demand. Clayton and Chesterfield, both St. Louis suburbs, host additional corporate headquarters and technology operations centers that hire at the program management level.
How to find technical program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Missouri?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search for technical program manager roles in Missouri without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform surfaces openings from employers with active H-1B filing histories in Missouri, including major employers in the St. Louis aerospace corridor and Kansas City's healthcare IT sector. Filtering by state and role on Migrate Mate narrows results to positions relevant to your situation.
Are there state-specific factors that affect technical program manager sponsorship in Missouri?
Missouri's sponsoring employers are concentrated in industries with longer project cycles, such as defense contracting and healthcare IT, which tends to favor experienced program managers with established track records over entry-level candidates. Employers filing H-1B petitions must attest to the Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements for the specific Missouri metropolitan area. Missouri's two largest metro areas, St. Louis and Kansas City, have different prevailing wage determinations, so the same role may carry different wage obligations depending on the work location.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical program manager jobs in Missouri?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
